[He followed her into Steveās kitchen] I only can make sandwiches and fried eggs. I think weāre even.
Together we can make a three course meal.
winter-soldat:
Right now? Sounds great.
[The corners of Natashaās lips twitched upwards as she walked into the kitchen, pulling out the toaster.] Good, because thatās about all I can make. That and cereal.
winter-soldat:
Well then.
How do you feel about toast?
Donāt worry,
starkboygenius:
[Tony scoffed and stood as well.] Was that a compliment, Tasha?
Donāt tell anyone.
Donāt worry,
starkboygenius:
Giving up would imply I ever thought I stood a chance.
Youāre not that bad, you know. Definitely an improvement from the spoiled little rich boy I met in a bar two years ago. [She rolls off and pushed herself up.]
winter-soldat:
Will you cook for me?
I can try.
Donāt worry,
starkboygenius:
[He sighs and grabs it before yanking her forward and rolling on top of her, laying over her perpendicularly.] Alright. Nap time.
Not for me. [She kicks his legs out from under him and rolls them around so that she is on top.] You give up?
winter-soldat:
⦠so do I.
[There is a prolonged silence between them once more. But itās never awkward.] Are you hungry?
Donāt worry,
starkboygenius:
[He releases her arm then sweeps her feet out from under her.] Gotcha that tiā [Heās cut off when she kicks out and heās too slow to avoid it.]
Donāt get too cocky. Just because an opponent is down, doesnāt mean theyāre out. [She picks herself back up and offers him a hand.]Ā
Donāt worry,
starkboygenius:
Maybe, but weāll see. [He gets in a better stance this time and lets her make the first move. He dodges the first punch, then the second. She clips him with a jab but he manages to get her arm behind her back.] Did you let me do that just now?
Youāre learning, thatās the point. Ow! Donāt squeeze so tight!
winter-soldat:
Maybe I shouldnāt move on.
Well, for whatās itās worth...I hope you do.
winter-soldat:
That wonāt change the things I did or bring back the people I killed.
No, it wonāt. But lingering about it wonāt help you move on either.
What do you mean itās Christmas Eve?
winter-soldat:
Iām trying. For him. And for you.
[She pauses for a half a second, thrown by theĀ āand for youā part.] Then give yourself a break. Youāve been doing well since you got here.Ā
winter-soldat:
And thatās bad enough.
Look...you need to give yourself a chance. Not just for your sake, but for Rogers. You deserve a shot at a life and he deserves getting his best friend back.Ā
winter-soldat:
Unless I was Hitler, Steve would think Iām good.

Youāre a good man, you know. Rogers certainly seems to think so.
