I was unwanted by several members of my birth family. I am forever grateful to my birthmom for choosing life. She didn't have to. She was young without the support of her parents. Instead she looked for adoptive parents and found my parents.

Yes and no. It is a slur against trans women. Trans women are seen as men being feminine instead of as women, hence being referred to as feminine men.

I ask to put this in perspective. The answer is no. Saying a slur that you cannot reclaim isn’t permissible just because you weren’t using it in a derogatory way.

You are white, so am I. Neither of us get to use the N-word as an example of comparison because we have no equivalent to it. Don’t use black peoples’ issues to clarify a point you’re trying to make.

Going back to whether femboy is a slur.. you’re kind of being progressive backwards. Surely femboy has been used in a derogatory way towards trans women. But men (cis and trans/nonbinary) using “femboy” to describe their gender aesthetic, identity, or clothing does NOT invalidate the existence of trans women as women. Neither does someone misunderstanding or misusing “femboy” as an excuse to be transphobic. Cis people being transphobic is not a reason for the rest of us to have to stop reclaiming words or being “feminine boys”.

I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

My father died in 2016. I didn't attend his funeral or burial in Cairo. I felt awful, so I asked my family for some belongings to remind me of him. I was given quite a few things, including a book that bought us in 2000 and often read for me and my brother.

The book is called "stories of animals in the Quran". The publisher is based in downtown Cairo and the book can be found anywhere.

Today, I will share some of the quotes from this book (cover page attached in this post and other photos in first comment).

- The Golden Calf: the house of Israel are idol worshippers who are not true to faith.

I was 10 in 2000, my brother was 7. This is what we were told about Jews. This is what kids are taught in Muslim countries.

JK Rowling has used her billionaire legal team to silence a Jewish woman for telling the truth about her contempt for trans victims of the Holocaust.

Scotland’s network of “freedom of speech” organisations, as per usual, have nothing to say about the use of wealth to gag critics of the wealthy.

However fast they race to condemn the LGBT+ community for saying the names of those who harm us. Statements at the ready to insist that transphobes no one wants to work with anymore must be given every possible opportunity to gain from their bigotry.

But it's not the billionaires who are being silenced, as our media breathlessly echo their every hateful proclamation.

It's journalists and activists forced to publicly humiliate themselves under the weight and the threat of billionaire legal teams or be driven into destitution.

We deserve better. Freedom of speech needs to mean something

You'd expect that people who care so much about the memory of the holocaust, that they (rightly) see the denial of LGBT damages during the holocaust as a form of holocaust denial, would care to hear that the largest number of Jews murdered since the holocaust happened not even 9 months ago, right?

Thing about sex work is that the push for "Sex work is real work" is being pushed super hard because people don't want to admit that it's just a profession where you get paid to have sex.

The issue is that's not how professions work.

A profession requires you to do something that other people don't want to do and usually that you also don't want to do. The incentive is of course getting paid to do it.

But when you're a chef, you're not being paid to eat food, you're being paid to make food and you have to make what people want you to make and you have to make it the way they want you to make it.

With sex work, you're just having sex. You pick your partners, you pick your audience, you only do what you're comfortable doing, you're doing perverse sexual shit and getting paid for it.

If you marry a sex worker, you are marrying someone getting paid to cheat on you, and they're more than happy to pretend that if you're getting paid for it it no longer counts as cheating.

If you marry a blacksmith, you are marrying someone getting paid to make swords. If you marry a chef, you are marrying someone getting paid to cook. If you marry a cobbler, you are marrying someone getting paid to make shoes.

So I'm just saying it's really funny how sex work is the only profession on the planet, literally, that goes against the regular conventions of faithfulness in marriage or even in dating, and also is the only profession that by default you're ashamed of telling your family about it and refuse to let your family be your customers.

Kinda makes it seem like it's not a profession, dunnit?

Sex is not a commodity and it's not a service and it's not something that people should be able to buy and sell. If you have a partner and you're having sex with someone else it's still unfaithful. Money doesn't suddenly make it ok. Sex is not work and it shouldn’t be treated like a job.

And if the moral issues weren't enough the "sex work" industry is corrupt to the core. There is nothing good about it. Abuse is rampant in that "industry."

Or claim the stats are wildly misunderstood. The claim that male on female abuse was from male entitlement toward woman has never come with much evidence, and has long sounded a tad...oversimplied to me. Including for the reasons mentioned in the quote; why would it be the only gender combo of abuse that's apparently like this? Especially when society says men aren't supposed to hit women even in self-defense?

Definitely against harassing women, but I think it’s morally inconsistent to believe something is wrong and NOT try to stop it. Especially when it involves violence, and the destruction of human lives. That’s WHY people protest things. That’s why it’s considered a good thing when steps are taken to intervene when someone is vulnerable or in danger.

However I do agree that we need time aim more focus on the underlying issues that make abortion seem like the only desirable option for women in need. We need to really take a hard look at treating the disease and not just the symptoms. The fact of the matter is that women are not treated as equal. Female bodies are scorned and shamed. Other alternatives to pregnancy (barring total abstinence, which is unrealistic) need to be more accessible. Sterilization procedures, safe contraception, and far harsher deterrents to sexual assault would be a good start.
