i don't go on rants often but today is different....
last night after expressing my frustration with the dj scene in NY my wifeTiphany J. Lee-Allen told me something and she was right (fellas, trust me here, just admin when your lady is right. its always better for you in the long run)...i'm not a mediocre dj. even though the landscape of NYC would have me thinking I am doing something wrong that is not the case. Today I dj for an international rapper featured in forbes (thanks Pain 1), next week Tiph djs at her favorite brunch spot in BK, and next week my brother on the turntables Anthony mcLean DJCLEAN heads out on the Vans Warped Tour. I know a plethora of talented DJs. at the drop of a dime i tell someone what DJ to book, which DJ to send their music to, or what DJ has the best mix for their parties. I am part of an international DJ crew based off one of the greatest labels in hip hop history. I worked for that label at one point and learned so much that is insane I don't get to use that knowledge daily.
I have to understand the universe will eventually allow all of these things to combine and work out. Whether is my solo endeavor, F The Majors Allen McLean Noisemakers Violator Allstar Djs WorldWide something will happen. It's only a matter of time. So until then I just have to be ready.
