Levis and the Uber Equation
“One of the brightest success stories from the gold rush was that of a little known tailor from Germany. He got to San Francisco around 1850 hoping to make it selling tarps and wagon coverings to the miners. He quickly realized there was more demand for sturdy clothes. Working in a mine for 16 hours a day takes a toll on your wardrobe, so this tailor went about providing durable work pants to the miners.Fast forward a few years and that tailor, Mr. Levi Strauss, built a denim jean empire. Levi knew part of the Uber Equation before there was an Uber!”

"I think we’ve been asking the wrong question: how do we make people pay for music. Instead ask how do we let people pay for music"

This video shows the first stage of an effective demobilisation campaign against the FARC (guerrillas) in Colombia, (launched in 2010). As of today, a peace agreement is being worked out, monitored by the UN. This should mark the end of a 50 year conflict. The Colombian government only started getting the upper hand when they started these immobilisation campaigns. An article suggests that a similar approach could be used towards ISIS, and draws many parallels. I would suggest giving it a read.
