This is the hair I used for my custom Sara Ryder in ME:Andromeda (she’s the one on the top right!), so for all-intents-and-purposes, I’m dubbing it “The Pathfinder” hair as well. The hair is hat compatible (slightly testy with the weighting, but still good), is BGC and has all LODs along with all EA-base colors.
There’s not much else to it, so enjoy ;)

So guess who’s been messing around with photoshop? I made my first header today thanks to the many wonderful tutorials by @itsphotoshop. I would also like to thank @masseffectscreenarchery for the A+ Reyes screenshot.

Finished! ♥ Reyes is getting a little upset because of Liam, maybe I’ll write a short drabble if I find some time! The colors aren’t perfect, sadly I havent’ purchased the graphic tablet yet so I color with photoshop, lazo and the damn mouse :( I relaly like the finished product, I wanted to add some backgroud but I’m a bit lazy xD

The Collective’s Symbol

So, I’ve been kind of obsessing over the potential origin of the Collective’s symbol. I haven’t really got any good conclusions, but I did stumble across some lovely dovetails with @shepardofthenormandy ‘s Reyes-Vidal-as-an-Anhur-rebel headcanon. (If you haven’t read it yet, it’s worth it!)
The Collective symbol is three pillars (with one larger than the others) set against a red sun. (Seen in the image above. Yes, I know that’s the guy from Advent, but it’s the same symbol that’s on the Collective uniforms.)
- the pillars made me think of the Pillars of Creation - a famous photograph of the Eagle Nebula (google it. It’s lovely).
- The Eagle Nebula is home to the Amun System in the Mass Effect Universe. The Amun System is home to Anhur, the planet that shepardofthenormandy’s headcanon puts Reyes as being native to. The capital of Anhur is New Thebes.
- The Egyptian Sun God, Ra, is often symbolized using a red or yellow disc.
- Ra was fused with the god Amun (one of the Thebian triad of gods) in 16th century BC to become Amun-Ra. Amun-Ra is often described as a ‘self-created’ god and a champion of the poor or troubled. It is also worth noting that between 16-11th century BC, Thebes was almost monotheistic in that other gods were viewed as mere manifestations of Amun-Ra (representatives of the Charlatan? 😉)
- also, Amun is represented in some translated texts as being part of a plurality or trinity.
- and finally, Amun’s name can be translated as ‘invisible’ or ‘hidden one’.
And that is how I spent my Monday night.

I really wanted to paint something for the last day of Reyes Vidal Week. Didn’t quite make it in time but here’s the painting anyways. ^^’
and with this i learned it is hard to draw reyes. i will conquer his face someday! but yeah it was damn time i drew some reyder. i have been meaning to do so ever since i played the game, but somehow never found the time or inspiration. today, i got both. high five!
Word of advice my friends: never ever draw things while being drunk ;D
