Milan Could Sell Fofana Despite Key Role
Transfer activity surrounding AC Milan is heating up once again, with Italian media reporting that Youssouf Fofana could be among the players considered for a summer departure—despite being a crucial part of the squad. The 27-year-old midfielder remains a regular starter under Massimiliano Allegri, consistently featuring this season, including in high-profile clashes like the showdown against Juventus, highlighting his importance in Milan’s midfield.
Although Fofana is under contract until June 2028, speculation about a potential transfer is growing. One key factor is Milan’s reported interest in Leon Goretzka, who could arrive on a free transfer. If that move materializes, it may directly impact Fofana’s long-term playing time.
Interest in Fofana is not new. Galatasaray previously attempted to sign him during the January transfer แทงบอลเว็บตรง window and are expected to return with another offer. Meanwhile, French clubs Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille are closely monitoring the situation and could enter the race if Milan gives the green light.
Fofana joined Milan from AS Monaco in the summer of 2024 for around €26 million, after developing his reputation in France with RC Strasbourg Alsace. His earlier career, including time at Drancy, helped shape him into a physically strong and versatile midfielder.
Reports suggest that if Milan decide to sell, they would consider offers in the region of €25–30 million—close to their original investment—making the deal financially viable. With uncertainty in the transfer market and a need to rebalance the squad for the future, Fofana’s situation is one to watch closely this summer.
The big question remains: will he continue as a key figure at San Siro, or begin a new chapter elsewhere in Europe?
