I know it probably sounds weird, but I hate when my job springs new people on me at the last minute.

I am a low energy introvert. I need to mentally prepare to deal with folks i dont know. Especially multiple new people. Especially when I'm already in a bad mood.

There's three people I don't know, shoved into my workspace right now, chattering away. And they are sucking all the air out of the room.

At least thats how I feel. So I know its a me problem and not their fault.

First, I'd like to take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous this doll is. Her screening is immaculate.

She came from one of the first wave you create kits. I didn't buy the whole kit but I was able to get her head, a matching mtm body and a few of the wigs from Mercari.

I originally had her on a petite body but I switched her to a tall and I think she looks fabulous.

Now, on to the hair.

I wish I'd had a few more of the brown braids leftover because the mix of colors complements her quite well. Makes a nice pop of color against the black.

The micro cord braids laid down very well after I poured some boiled water over them. I did wrap her head in plastic wrap overnight to really lay down the part.

This time I tried to leave more space between rows in the back of her head. It looks full without being bulky.

Overall, I think using the microcord was a success.

This was a bit of an experiment.

The brown braids in the front are what was left from the hair I bought from Shimmer Locks.

All of the black "braids" actually came from a roll of micro cord fiber. It mimics microbraids pretty well.

My concern now is whether or not a hot water rinse will lay them down and set the part.

Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I know you shouldn't attribute human emotions to animals but I think little cat got big mad at me this morning.

Apparently I fed two his cat enemies right in front of him and he wasn't having it. I didn't know they didn't get along.

Anyway, after I fed those interlopers, i tried to call little cat over to our usual spot so I could feed him too and he turned his back on me.

I called him and he looked back over his shoulder like he had never seen me before in his life, ,"you must be a stranger cause my friend human would never fraternize with these scalawags" then he got up and walked away.

Oh well, maybe if I slide him a Churu this evening all will be forgiven.

Good news, theres a leak in my bathroom ceiling

More good news, theres rain in the forecast every day for the foreseeable future.

The best news, the maintenance crew here are notorious for closing requests without doing a lick of work.

I have wanted a Barbie with the Selma face mold for a long time.

As most of you know, the Selma face is somewhat rare and hard to come by. I could rarely find one for sale on the second hand market and when I did, the prices were way out of my reach.

So I was very excited when I saw that there was a new Selma Barbie coming out, the Styled by Patti Wilson signature doll.

Finally an accessible Selma with a reasonable price.

I ordered her the first day she went on sale and anticipated her arrival.

Then she came. And I just didn't love her as much as I wanted to. I redressed her a few times and tried to restyle her hair but something wasn't clicking for me.

I loved her screening, the lip color and beauty mark were perfect, so it wasn't that.

It finally hit me that it was her hair.

That blonde hair just wasn't working for me.

Not only did I not like the color, the haircut was also terrible. Jagged and uneven like one of the hackjobs I did on dollhair when I was a kid being reckless with the scissors.

Now that I'm no longer terrified of rerooting, I decided to make a change.

I gave her deep brown nylon hair and I love the way it looks. This is the Selma that I wanted.

Can't wait for her hair to dry so I can pick out a new outfit for her ☺️

I didn't think I liked this face sculpt but seeing her with some hair really does make a difference.

For some reason I think she needs a nose piercing 🤔

She reminds me of some celebrity but I cant quite put my finger on who. Can y'all think of anyone?

This is probably the best looking wig to come out of any of these kits.

Its a very simple style and not too bulky at the part. Pretty sure its still poly, but not the stiff, scratchy variety. It sheds though.

This one has some potential if the super tight curl can be loosened or turned downward. Nice color but it sheds too.

I feel like this style is very dated. Maybe if you fiddle with it you could get a decent look but I personally dont care for it.

The good news is, all these hair colors look good on Rose, my favorite sculpt out of this kit.

I was thinking I wanted to root her with long blonde braids but the darker colors on that first wig also look striking on her.

Im about an hour away from starting my long weekend and I cant even pretend like I'm still working.

At my desk drinking a frappuccino and looking out the window.

Cainiao has the worst customer service possible.

First they tried to deliver my order at 11pm even after I've already told them the building is only open from 9 to 7pm.

Then when I contacted them to have the package redelivered, they keep asking for my tracking number, full address, Google Maps pin of the location. I have sent them the information they asked for at least three times already.

Yet evey night they send another email asking for the same thing over and over again.

Now my package has said its out for delivery for three days.

Well, Cainiao clearly has no idea where my package is right now.

It has allegedly been in the city where I live since May 8, yet no delivery.

Aliexpress says if it doesn't show up by June 2, they will issue a full refund.

Can't I just enjoy my cheap goods in peace?
