“The heart, Ramone. Don’t forget the heart. Aim for the heart, or you’ll never stop me.”
Pirate Doom was super sweet, but it made me recall a yearning for something else… A Few PWADs More. A Fistful of Doom is an old partial conversion that swaps out all the zombie sprites for fantastic western variants and some slightly more appropriate weaponry. Cute touches include replacing cell ammo with gold pickups (no pickups for plasma gun / BFG equivalents) and the replacement of “ARMOR” with “LUCK”… which is in short supply. At just two levels, with tons of clever midtexture tricks, I can’t help but wish that they’d made more maps… or a fuller-fledged TC.
