Every time I apply my oestrogen gel because of menopause I think "there is a trans woman somewhere who is also sitting in her underwear post shower waiting for the gel to dry before she finishes getting dressed" and I feel happy and a sense of kinship and camaraderie with her even though I am not a trans woman or even trans femme in anyway

But I know how to apply the gel because I saw posts from trans women how to apply it and I feel that even though are reasons for using it are different that we are not so different

So for any woman or non binary person out there who are sitting post oestrogen gel application and scrolling on their phone as they wait for it to dry...we are doing this together and this genderqueer person lovee you

Struck and fascinated by the flight attendant at my airport this morning who took a moment to promote community, social awareness, love, and anti-AI sentiment before boarding. He also made some lighthearted jokes about ASAP Rocky. This man was charismatic and funny and there were less than fifty people in the waiting area, half of whom responded to his spiel with a local sports chant that indicated approval.

We see a lot of queer arab erasure, almost as if we don’t exist. Not only are we hated and murdered within our own countries for being different, but we are also invisible and forgotten in our own communities.

So this is an appreciation posts to all the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex and A-spectrum Arabs! And lets not forget our non-binary cousins You aren’t forgotten!

When I was in a conservative religious cult, two of the women in my congregation hated each other. It was so bad leaders of our congregation would conspire to try to have them sit as far away from each other as possible, not be in the same room as much as possible, etc. It was some serious drama.

But when one of the women needed help packing a large house worth of boxes into a big moving truck, the other was there with the rest of us, moving boxes. Because that's what you did. Personal dislike and rivalry were trumped by the social obligations of being part of the community. Mutual aid trumped mutual hatred.

Now, I have no desire to go back to the cult, but I do think they were on to something here. Community can't be about who we are friends with or get along with easily. If you won't go to bat for people you hate then this is not a community, it's a popularity contest.

I mean, come on. We can at least be as good as the Mormons. That won't be the end of it, it isn't anywhere near good enough, but we currently fail to meet even that benchmark. And until we do the very idea of leftist and progressive mutual aid is dead in the water.
