i really wanted to doodle my Halloween costume, so i did!

I’ve been making so much progress with my art lately, and im really, really proud of myself for that. I went from mainly drawing headshots, to half body pieces, and now im playing with dynamic full body things. And clothes! I never ever draw them, I don’t even try, but i didnt even think about it when I drew this piece. It just happened! Lol 😝 and it looks good, too! I’m super proud. Not to mention the fact that I got the idea to draw this yesterday, and then pulled it off today. Like – that never happens…🫢 I’ve always been the type to be plagued with artistic ideas that I could never follow up on because it took me so long to draw anything. Doesn’t help that I’m a perfectionist, lol. Next, I wanna tackle backgrounds. I have no idea what type of backgrounds I want to do, but I am excited for my future progress :3

it’s amazing how art can be a conduit for unconscious feelings and even trauma.

the other day as i drew, i had the profound realization that sometimes when i draw, i get so nasty with myself while my sketch and line art are in that awkward little phase between coherent and abstract. unfinished. like, literally ill get so mean in my head that it doesn’t look like my vision, and its literally not finished yet. im still actively working on the drawing, i am literally, right then and there, right in the moment fixing it and yet im diminishing myself and the art because it “looks bad.” like i haven’t even given myself a chance to finish yet. and then i thought about my family and how the most influential characters of my household have done the exact same thing: unnecessary, even vicious criticism or correctionwhile im literally doing whatever task they’re complaining about. like there’s no trust in my abilities, like im too childish to know better with even blatantly obvious things. yet, they never give me the chance to show that i could. there was never any trust, or respect for that matter.

it’s exactly the same, i realize. i know they say artists are their own worst critics but this takes it to a whole new level because it’s not even my voice anymore. but now that i realized who’s voice im actually hearing up there, i know exactly who (or what) to ignore. i found the source and im cutting it by the head.

omgggg im so happy to see your account. i never see anyone posting about street fighter like this! i saw your one post about your player character being your blank slate, and i think you sooo should make them (was it she/her pronouns?) into an OC. the gal in my icon is my sf6 player character and i have a bunch of lore of her lol. also omg! Your art is sooo good! You’re so talented and have such a way with Ed’s expressions and his physique. You’re very talented and i hope we get to be friends and babble about the game n such sometime!

yes!!!! i’ve been putting her off for so long, i gotta lock in and see what i can do with her lore! it’s been so long since i’ve played both WT and the game in general that i’ve lost some of my roots and knowledge of what the hell is going on in the sf6 universe LOL. your girl looks so cool!!! trust that i will def reach out and we can giggle over our characters together heheh.

things I think about drawing but probably won’t get to: Juri looking completely disheveled in the mornings or late at night. The idea of her looking human, deeply messy, and lowkey kind of crusty is so funny to me because for all her sex appeal and feral cruelty or whatevr, she’d totally be the type of pretty girl who gets home and dissolves into a truly oversized shirt slipping off of one shoulder, basketball shorts, and socks that don’t match because she didn’t care to find the other one.

after bad bunny’s grammy win and his super bowl performance, i’ve been feeling really grateful of being a Latina and being a child of guatemala born and raised parents that… FUCK IT EVERYBODY GET LATINO!!!

after seeing xander zayas ( putero rican boxer ) and emiliano vargas ( mexican boxer ) in the halftime performance , i decided to draw ed wearing guatemalan based gloves bc I HAVE THE POWER TO.
