Happy Pride Month
Michael Cunningham, from “The Hours,” originally published c. 1998
The cold breeze touched her face and her cheeks turned red. Felt something salty in her lips that she confused with the water of the ocean. Her dress was becoming one with the sunset, a monochromatic picture that made her doubt where the skyline started and where her sorrows ended. Only silence and a few whispers of the wind serenaded her as she watched the tide give back what she has always been missing.
