Taking in every detail of him, your pace slows until you come to a halt to take another look at his mug. You notice his attempt to keep eye contact with you and you accept the challenge, raising your eyebrows as if to say Let's see you try something.

As irresistible as you are, not many of your online pals ever express interest in meeting you face to face. But Karkat Vantas--he is something else. The guy traveled here, to this specific bubble, only for the sake of proving a point! You appreciate his enthusiasm and the efforts he's made to impress you.

Karkat is far more attractive than you anticipated, but whenever he speaks you wonder if that irritating voice belongs to him or some invisible giant cootie. The height difference is more extreme than you expected, and frankly downright hilarious. Here he is, the great Karkat Vantas. You wonder as you gaze down at him, your wide grin looking wider from his angle of view, how he manages to remain confident. The two of you do, after all, plan to rumble. For a moment you consider dropping out before you do too much damage to that obnoxiously beautiful face of his, but decide against the idea. A greaser never runs from a rumble, and it is your duty to uphold that image, as others had done in the past.

Shaking your head and snickering, you reach into the back pocket of your pants to pull a cigarette from your pack. You hold it in place with your jagged teeth, still smiling as your opponent speaks. "No, not forgetful. Just a fade out," you correct him, raising your eyebrows. "You have me shafted, Vantas."

You realize how difficult it is to speak smoothly with the cigarette in your mouth, so you remove it temporarily, holding it between your fingers. Fashion can wait. "I appreciate the concern. It gets crazy desolate around here," you start, pacing circles around him like a vulture scoping out his pray. "I'm just blown away that you mushed out to meet me! Heal my loneliness. You're a sweeter honey than I expected."
