Eating a grapefruit is so decadent, it invokes so purely that sweet feeling of eating a manâs heart in the marketplace.
Yeah, I gotta be shorter than the person I date, I spent way too much time working with the myspace angle to change up my game now.
I may have no âmarketableâ skills, but I do know my momâs chocolate bread recipe by heart, and that should be good enough.
Maybe I donât spend two hours braiding my hair for a man, maybe I do it for the little girl who gasps, âElsa!!!â every time I walk in the room.
Just out here wondering if weâve all got anemia, my dirt-obsessed friends.
âIn The Woods Somewhereâ is just Hozierâs explanation of why heâs late for dinner.
Maybe I just WANT to make poor decisions.
we should really talk about Foreignerâs God by Hozier more its such an emotionally devastating song its a lamentation of the systemic destruction of Irish culture under English colonial rule but it also expresses a universal grief that every culture thatâs been lost to colonialism can connect to the lyric âall that iâve been taught and every word iâve got is foreign to meâ reflects so much yearning and loss Foreignerâs God is easily the most underrated Hozier song and is undoubtedly one of his best
I adore the solidarity that comes from that.
The âDinner and Diatribesâ video is so beautiful; Hozier recognised that we are all villains in someone elseâs life and then went and created this whole story to point out the villain in himself, gorgeous.
I donât trust the eye doctor, because I donât trust any diagnosis that is based on me trying to figure out whether option one or option two looks better.
I am just a girl, crawling behind her desk to get to that one outlet that doesnât blow out when a hair dryer is plugged into it, so that I can look nicer than usual when I stand in front of my mirror and pretend to ask someone out.

Hereâs the thing about the George Floyd protests: weâre fighting a battle on two fronts. Weâre not asking for just one thingâweâre asking for two.
The first thing that we are fighting for is an end to discrimination. Yes, the end to racism, because we donât want black men choked to death, we donât want young black girls to be sexualized, we donât want people to be paid less because theyâre black. But we want more. We want to end to discrimination of all kinds. Because discrimination is a pervasive problem, that spreads across all groups of people that are seen as the âother.â Think about everything that weâve been fighting for: the âme tooâ movement, safety for the homeless, LGBTQ+ rights, rights for disabled people, etc. We refuse to be quiet. We want equality and safety for all people. And George Floydâs death reminded us of all that is lacking in a world that refuses to treat everyone like human beings who deserve to safe.
And as extensive as that is, we also fight for something else. We are fighting for the end to police brutality. Because of course we donât want black men choked to death, we donât want deaf people to be beaten, we donât want women to be killed in their sleep, we donât even want frat boys to be roughed up. We want to trust the people with authority, and itâs a scary thought that there are people who can hurt us, and we might not even get justice. And, once again, George Floydâs death reminds us of the injustice in the world.
But weâre not asking for something small. And, often, people try to treat it like weâre asking for a very small, specific overlapâan end to police brutality against black men. But thatâs such a small category, that it wonât fix anything to try to solve that single problem by itself. We need to spread our focus to the bigger picture. Rather than trying to dam the river of injustice with a single stick, we need to come together and recognize the enormity of our fightâand dam the river with everything weâve got.

Steve: You donât even like to study.
Ponyboy: What??
Steve: You dropped out of high school, Pony.
Ponyboy: I graduated early so I could go to university.
Steve: Huh. Guess there are a lot more opportunities for drop-outs these days.
