â€ïžđđGRACEFULđđâ€ïž
â[my social media links]
admittedly i know little of the subject but one would think, at 45 years of age, he would be a ryan goose by now
This post is: Kiki
Wasnât gonna reblog (I donât re log a lot) untill I continued scrolling and couldnât stop saying âhe must be a goose by nowâ and giggling
Thank you project hail mary for showing the wider audience what aroace and qpr mean
Now I can just tell my friends "I want what Grace and Rocky have" and see the dots connecting in their brains
That's the representation we need
I hate how accurately the movie depicts society's view of people not in romantic relationships is.
Ryland Grace was not a sad man waiting for his demise. He was happy. He loved teaching, his students were SO important to him. He had a good life.
But he didn't fit societal norms and that somehow made his life less valuable? The way Stratt saying "oh you're not married, you don't have any immediate family or even a dog" was treated as part of an explanation as to why he should be more willing to go on a SUICIDE MISSION?! As if that somehow made his life less important? As if it made him some sort of expandable material?
It's genuinely so sad how realistic it is. It's also part of the reason why I wholeheartedly believe in aroace Grace. It's just such a common experience within the community that even if it's unintentional it feels like finally getting some sort of representation.
(I genuinely hope this post is at least somewhat coherent it's basically just a rant written at two am that I'm too tired to look through <33)
I think about this all the time and especially that Rocky does fit these societal norms yet his life if never valued more, he never makes Grace feel like he has more right to live because of Adrian back home but instead we both live or we both die we are in this together
One of the reasons people headcanon Grace as aromantic is the unfortunately realistic scene where they go "you don't have a family or a loved one" as if that's enough of a justification to send him on a suicide mission. As if not having a family makes Grace inherently less valuable and means he should be more willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
Grace wasn't sad and lonely, he was happy, he had a good life, he very much did not want to die. They have to do a looney tunes chase sequence and drug him because Grace was *very* unwilling to be the sacrificial lamb. Humanity's savior was dragged kicking and screaming into the role and called selfish for daring to be a coward, as if most of us wouldn't be.
And then he befriends Rocky, who never demands a sacrifice from him, who willingly prolongs his journey home so Grace can go back to his. Rocky has a mate back home and his species depends on his return, and still risks his life to save his squishy human friend. And Grace returns the favor.
And thus the power of friendship saves two planets.
It always felt like earth said âyou donât fit our typical model of a person in societyâ and then said âokay we donât need you on earthâ and itâs just so sad and Rocky is the person (is person the right word?) that shows grace that you donât have to fit these models, while Rocky does fit the models of his planet and has a mate he never suggests that he is more valued than grace and thatâs so sweet and necessary, in short we all need a Rocky
SO excited for the ghosts movie im gonna be awful
aroace culture is making your favourite characters aroace too
.
Dare I say Dirk Gently?
Ah yes new episodes of expedition unknown and the expedition files in one weekend Iâm about to become INSUFFERABKE
in the Ghosts movie Julian goes Dark Woke and decides the term 'ghost' is a slur

Just finished Derry girls and it was fun orla is so me
The unicorn and the wasp is probably one of the most buck fucking wild doctor who episodes ever written: a party in the 1920s, featuring the Doctor, Donna, Agatha Christie, a flapper, a pair of gay lovers, the shady hostess and her husband, and a priest. It plays out like a typical whodunit with murders and poisonings until the climax which reveals that the murderer was the priest, who is secretly the hostess' son because the hostess fucked a mysterious man in India. The priest is also a shape-shifting wasp alien (because the man the hostess fucked in India was also a shape-shifting wasp alien: she knew this and was OK with it) who was acting out murders from Agatha Christie's novels because his mother liked those novels and a magical jewel beamed the plot directly into his brain (he had no other motive). And the flapper was secretly a famous jewel thief who had nothing to do with the murders. And the butler didn't do it
Not even a doctor who fan but this is the one episode Iâve seen
I genuinely donât understand how Dirk Gentlyâs Holistic Detective Agency isnât a bigger hit on this website! I mean the main characters are literally a pathetic cringe fail wet-cat of a man and his incredibly traumatized neurodivergent best friend boyfriend!
Thereâs a hot goth lady who gets adopted into a polycule group of incredibly kind punk-looking guys who live in their car! The car might be sentient!!
THERES A WOMAN COVERED IN BLOOD WHO KILLS PEOPLE FOR FUN! She also adopts a guy!
This show should be like catnip for yâall! GO WATCH IT! ITS AMAZING! THE PLOT IS THE WEIRDEST (IN THE BEST WAY) FUCKING THING THAT YOUâLL SEE THIS YEAR! THE WRITINGâS SPECTACULAR! EVERY SINGLE PIECE IF PLOT IS LITERALLY CONNECTED AND WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU! THE CHARACTERS ARE SO SO SO AMAZING! GO WATCH IT!!!
Canât remember who said it it was either one of the actors or director or something but they said âitâs a show for weirdoes about weirdoesâ and yeah thatâs pretty much right
âi asked chatgptâ okay well i asked dirk gently and he said stop making excuses for your excuses
The difference between a show I like/love and one I obsess over are these 3 criteria:
A character I relate to/see myself in
A character that I want as a friend/a dynamic I wish I had with someone
Moments that either make me cry or want to clutch my chest in love for characters
