I was very inspired by all of the cosplay at the local comic book expo. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of people that dressed up in full blown, hand made costumes for a one day event. So neat: there is a community in everything.

I went home for lunch and changed Adele into a Doreen Green costume that I have from my marvel doll and brought her back to our table. GAht damn she looks cute.

I’m sad the Toy Story franchise has never once talked about the concept of toys not being outgrown and actually having a role in adults lives. It’s all toys realising that a kid has grown up and doesn’t need them anymore and learning to move on, but what about a toy realising that a kid has grown up and doesn’t need them in the same way, but very much does still need them? 

What about adults for whom a toy is the last reminder they have of a lost loved one who gave the toy to them?

Lonely older people who still keep their teddy bear around no matter how old they get as a source of company and comfort?

People with large collections of dolls or teddy bears who love each and every one as if they were alive?

Adults who carry a small toy with them always as a comfort item or lucky mascot?

You need only look at blogs like that of the wonderful @doctorbeth to see just how important a much loved toy can be to someone, even when that someone is a fully grown mature adult.

For a film franchise all about the strong emotional connections we can have with our toys, it’s strange that they haven’t touched on how those connections can last a whole lifetime and never lose their strength.

The Equestria Girls Minis are inexplicably the best FIM toys Hasbro has made since those super-early molded hair ponies.

Thanks to a friend, I now have an EQG Mini Twilight.

She’s really sweet to look at, although the level of articulation leaves more to be desired. But having known the level of intricacy and experience of figmas and Nendoroids with various hands and expressions included in-box from Good Smile Company, one can’t complain too much for what is still a doll mass-produced by Hasbro that costs $11 on average.

The true-to-show look is a step taken in the right direction for Hasbro, now that it’s been revealed that more are to come.

I love the detail on my new spider man pop doll

I love how it has him upside down attached to the string of web. To top it all off he’s holding a little chemistry book! Out of all my pop doll this one is definitely my favorite.
