Her entire body was paralyzed, not from her fear, but rather his mere presence. It was as if his word was absolute, and she couldn't even speak up to oppose. It was a dreadful feeling. Even as he walked towards her she could not back away. Her legs felt like lead, they would not obey her commands. Instead, her body obeyed him.
As she was forced to look up at him, another wave of disgust rolled through her. All of her features contorted, but she was still frozen stiff. So desperately she wanted to pull away. He was not human, she was sure of it. And those suspicions were confirmed moments later. A shiver rolled up her spine as he leaned in closer, her dread turning into pure terror within a single moment. She wanted to scream as he pierced her flesh, but nothing came out. It was a peculiar sensation, agonizing yet blissful. It burned like a roaring fire, but she was not scared of it. In that moment, her thoughts cleared her head. Only for that moment, however, and as soon as he stepped away she found herself stumbling backwards from the appalling experience.
A... blood sucking demon?! I thought that was merely legend!
It was technically possible, she supposed. Poison Princesses were said to be nothing but legend as well, and yet she existed. It would be naive to think that other myths could not hold truth.
But his words are what truly shook her core. That's right, he had tasted her blood, yet he was... perfectly fine? It's as he said, her entire body is sodden with poison, so how? Lycoris figured it had to be due to his cursed form, he was just as vile at his core as she was. Of course her poison couldn't taint what has already been tainted.
Is this his reason for taking an interest in me? Will he let me go now that he has his answer?
Another wave of uneasiness hit her as if answering her own question. The person that stood before her was not human, of course things wouldn't be so simple. He did not seem like the kind of man to pay heed to someone who could not sate his wicked desires.
"Let me go this instant!"
Those words desperately escaped her lips, but why is it that she needed his permission to start off with? She wanted to run, but she couldn't. She was rooted to the ground and all she could do is demand him to release the grip he held on her. But why couldn't she just run...? All of it, every last bit of this situation seemed utterly futile to her. A hopeless situation that was completely out of her grasp.
