Aloha Bennets – Varadero EP
A band who are making their mark on music by fusing catchy pop with brash garage rock, and of course by eagerly forcing everyone they encounter to dance along to their unique brand style and sound, Aloha Bennets are on the verge of making history in so many possible ways.
In April they presented their debut EP to the world, the stunning ‘Varadero’, with which they hope to spread their infectious desire to make music, dance a lot, and above, have fun. Their new EP takes this passion to heart, opening immediately onto a plain of quick tempos, vibrant percussion, swaying guitar, and chanting vocals that will sweep you away in an instant.
Full of playful vibrancy, but grounded by its rough-cut edge, opening anthem ‘Pudrete’ explains everything you could ever need to know about Aloha Bennets in a sweet two minute, fourteen seconds run. Following cut ‘A Kilometros De Aqui’ brings a more cinematic feel, drawing on an almost Tarentino-feel that is built brash guitars, tribal drumming, and a stunning chorus, while elsewhere on the EP, Aloho Bennets see fit to simply enjoy themselves, generating thrills and spine-tingling moments wherever they see fit.
In the end, ‘Varadero’ is an EP if perfect clarity and unbridled fun, built out of passion and thrown together in whirlwind of good times and joyous vibes. It’s an EP that will make you stop and take notice, but will then quickly have you trying to singalong in between every shaky beat, and if you don’t find yourself dancing by the end of it, then you’re not paying enough attention.
