Genuinely why do people still use optifine for modded minecraft

Optifine was only good like, 15 years ago. Its also closed source and it makes it extremely hard to add compatibility for it. SODIUM ALSO GIVES A BETTER PERFORMANCE INCREASE ANYWAYS!!!! It's even worse when a mod specifically says they aren't compatable with optifine and someone STILL opens a bug report for it.

If you are still using optifine here are some BETTER alternatives

Performance - Sodium (Fabric/Neoforge), Embeddium (Forge)

Shaders - Iris (Fabric/Neoforge), Oculus (Forge)

Custom Entities - Entity model features (EMF), Entity texture features (ETF)

Connected Textures - ConnectedTexturesMod, Fusion (Connected Textures)

Dynamic Lights - Sodium/Embeddium Dynamic Lights

Fog Control - Chloride

Anti Aliasing - Anti Aliasing (Shader, all versions), QDAA (mod, fabric/neoforge, most versions supported

If i want to view sneak peaks then sure I'll join the discord, but when I can't tell if like a terraria mod has a minor or major update and I want to look through the changelogs to check, I don't want to join another fucking discord server just to see "Updated localization files" for the 50th update in a row. You can put announcements on steam for a games changelogs, and even the steam workshop has a changelogs tab, and I shouldnt feel crazy for thinking that when I click on the changelogs tab, I should see the CHANGELOGS and not a FUCKING DISCORD INVITE. even a link to your website where I can see changelogs is fine like what Calamity mod does, but I shouldn't have to join 100 fucking discord servers just to keep up with the fucking changelogs.
