Adventures In Alola

Paloma has always found a strong interest when it comes to dancing, though it isn’t hard to see being an Oricorio herself. Outside of being an Oricorio, Paloma’s interest in dancing has always come from the much slower types of styles. Ones where you let go of your mind and your body wander, pushing Paloma to try Sensu and Pa’u Oricorio forms over the years with a lot of success. This ability to change forms and dance styles is something Paloma herself cherishes a lot, usually pushing her to bring both Pink and Purple nectar wherever she goes. These colored nectars allow Paloma to swap between these two forms to better fit the mood or situation. As much as she enjoys these two forms, she tends to avoid the Baile and Pom Pom styles whenever possible. It's not that she hates these other forms herself, but she has had little practice with using them in battle or dance. At the very least her younger sister Marcella is quite happy with these forms more energetic forms of dances, but this does make it hard to agree with her sister in some instances when the two are at odds with their dances. Someday there will be a proper chance to settle their differences and understands each other’s style, but for the time being the two will enjoy the dances they have practiced for years.

Name: Paloma Age: 28 Gender: Female Species: Oricorio ( Sensu ) Type: Ghost / Flying Pokemon Abilities: Dancer ( When another Pokémon uses a dance move, it can use a dance move following it regardless of its Speed. ) Pokemon Moves: Revelation Dance | Mirror Move | Air Slash | Teeter Dance ( Hidden Moves: Feather Dance ) Pokemon Level: 42 Likes: Dance Teachings, Pokemon Battles, Interested Pokemon ( Paloma is very skilled in using her other forms for dancing, using this order to teach certain dances. Practicing her dances during a battle allows Paloma to use her form’s power and dance to dodge attacks and retaliate with her own moves. Even though more disruptive pokemon like to watch Paloma to try and mess with her, she’s much happier with pokemon who are generally interested in her dances. ) Dislikes: Pom-Pom Style, Pulled Feathers, Interrupted Dances ( Paloma’s dances focus more on slow and steady movements with her Pom-Pom form focusing a lot more on energetic movements. The fans Paloma uses in her Sensu and Pa’u style come from her own feathers which she encourages others not to pull forcibly or try to take from her. Being a calm pokemon who puts everything into her dances, Paloma can be rather annoyed when others try to get in the middle of her dancing unless it’s an emergency. )

Family: ( Mother ), Marcella ( Sister ) Occupation ( Job ): Dance Instructor Relationships: Pepper ( Loose Cannon ), Remington ( Marcella’s friend ) Personality ( Sensu / Pa'u ): Calm, Passionate, Teacherly ( Paloma is quite the calm pokemon, usually seeing each situation with a calm mind. With dancing being a strong part of her life, Paloma is passionate with showing her dance to others through all sorts of means. With the interest in teaching others some of her dances, she also extends her passion to hopefully rub it off on others. )

I’m currently attempting to experiment with the heights of all the current characters. So far all the heights are coming together, but Katherine ( Drampa ) is making me doubt everything. A Drampa in her late 20′s with a very tall height is too good to pass up. Hopefully, the decision will come soon enough when I have everything figured out.

When Marcella was a young Oricorio she always looked up to her sister’s dancing, often enjoying the way she moved so peacefully. Though as the years went by she never really found much interest in actually joining the dance, finding the dances to be too slow or have little room for moving around. She did enjoy the Baile style of dancing as time went on, but wanted something with a little more excitement and energy to it. It was only after Paloma returned home with a selection of Nectar that she found the style of dance she wanted to do. With pom-poms and newfound energy inside her, she quickly enjoyed her new form and began her passion to learn different cheers. She does often lose herself in the excitement, but finding her rhythm can sometimes be difficult for most Oricorio. It may take some time for Marcella to know when to relax unlike her sister, but she will be happy to dance for anyone to cheer them up. Though she does worry when she may have to return to the other dances one day.

Name: Marcella Age: 24 Gender: Female Species: Oricorio ( Shiny + Pom Pom ) Type: Electric / Flying ( Can change based on form ) Pokemon Abilities: Dancer ( When another Pokémon uses a dance move, it can use a dance move following it regardless of its Speed. ) Pokemon Moves: Revelation Dance | Roost | Air Slash | Teeter Dance ( Hidden Moves: Captivate ) Pokemon Level: 40 Likes: Pokemon Battles, Cheering Others, Sweets / Dessert ( With the speed and skill needed to battle other pokemon, Marcella uses this more so as dance practice to outmatch her opponents. With Marcella’s energy and passion for dancing, she likes to use this to help cheer others up when they’re feeling down. Marcella has quite the strong love for different kinds of desserts, especially Malasadas. ) Dislikes: Losing Pom Poms, Interrupted Dances, Shocking Others ( Marcell often has a bad habit of losing her pom poms in the midst of her excitement, sometimes panicking when she loses them. When Marcella gets herself into the rhythm, it can be difficult to stop her without coming into contact. As Marcell’s pom poms gather electricity from rubbing together, there are chances for her to accidentally shock someone without warning. )

Family: ( Mother ), Paloma ( Big Sister ) Occupation ( Job ): Cheerleader Relationships: Remington, ( Close Friend ), Pepper ( Sister’s Partner ), Katherine ( Friendly Audience ) Personality ( Pom Pom ): Energetic, Boisterous, Clumsy ( Like a lot of electric types, Marcella is quite the energetic pokemon who can be difficult to stop. Because of her energetic nature, especially while dancing, she can sometimes be boisterous and loud. Marcella can dance very well on her own, but can be a bit clumsy when having to do other tasks. )

When Remington was just a young salandit, his father was caught in a set of shady loans in order to help support his new family. As these loans were done behind closed doors, it made the discovery all the more heartbreaking when he had to leave his wife and son to pay off the rest of them. Remington and his mother had to go into hiding as requested in the hopes they won’t become targets. Remington often misses his father, having looked up to him through the early years thanks to the many tricks he showed off and how much fun the two had together. Years went by and Remington grew up to be a bit of a shut in, often being afraid of going outside without a friend or two. This has made him a bit oblivious to what goes on other islands, but he has managed a little through the years when he had to work and support his mother. Now that Remington is more than old enough to be on his own, his mother is encouraging him to explore around which has been difficult until his longtime friend was eager to join him. He hopes with a friend to join him as he explores Alola together, he might get to see what he missed all these years when staying close to his home.

Name: Remington Age: 24 Gender: Male Species: Salandit ( Shiny ) Type: Poison / Fire Pokemon Abilities: Corrosion ( The Pokémon can poison the target even if it's a Steel or Poison type. ) Pokemon Moves: Poison Fang | Venoshock | Flamethrower | Poison Gas ( Hidden Move: Smog ) Pokemon Level: 35 Likes: Beautiful Pokemon, Watching Battles, Fluffy Things ( Remington often loses himself to awe and marvel of pokemon who are often very beautiful or attractive, sometimes even being distracted. While it may be very dangerous for Remington to battle himself, he’s pretty content with watching others battle or train from a distance. Having often hugged his old plush for comfort back then, he tends to find comfort with pokemon or things that are fluffy. ) Dislikes: Swimming, Powerful Pokemon, Accusations ( Being in a region mostly surrounded by water can often be hard to enjoy when you have little experience or interest in swimming. While Remington doesn’t hate pokemon battles, being so weak as a Salandit doesn’t help when fighting opponents who are much stronger in every way. Being a salandit can sometimes be hard when some pokemon are quick to blame you as being a thief. )

Family: ( Mother ), ( Father ) Occupation ( Job ): ( None ) Relationships: Marcella ( Close Friend ), Cason ( Battle Trainer ) Personality: Anxious, Cowardly, Helpful ( As Remington is just a Salandit still living close to his mother, he can be very anxious at times on going too far from home or worrying her. Remington is often very cowardly when it comes to doing things that may get him in trouble or makes him uncomfortable, such as battling pokemon. While some people may see a lot of Salandits being very mischievous and deceitful, Remington is one such Salandit who wishes to help others and see his friends happy. )

“The Alola region is often seen as a very popular destination resort by both tourists and travelers alike. With many locations to enjoy, lots of fashion styles, and even delicious treats, it’s difficult to pass up a chance at such an amazing region. The culture is also very different from other regions, encouraging pokemon to work with others to achieve greater things. This has led to technology and services that rely on other pokemon, such as the Rotomdex or the Ride Service. Pokemon can request pokemon for travel using the Ride Service, and the Rotom Dex has helped in translating pokemon who were revived from fossils. You can certainly expect there to be many new discoveries upon your first visit to the region.

However, a major problem that stems from such a popular region are the many pokemon who are already dying to visit. You can expect to find almost any form of travel heading there to be booked or delayed in some fashion. Even if there is a chance for the region, it being far from other regions means the tickets will often be quite expensive. The easiest option most pokemon found was to swim from their destination to Alola, which is really only possible for pokemon who can make their home underwater. Needless to say, such a beautiful resort is only hindered by the travel needed to get there. Fortunately, the interest towards Alola has slowly begun to fade over the years with other regions to visit and explore. This has recently led to ticket prices for Alola being reduced to gain the last bit of flights and interest before many tourists and travelers move onto Galar. These offers might be appearing just after the summer season is over, but Alola is a beautiful place to visit regardless of the season. Who knows what kind of fun you can have, as well as the new pokemon to meet.”
