While not exactly a “Well-known” in terms of this blog, outside there is one character I’ve experimented with for a long time. Blaise is her name and she can easily be described as a boisterous Talonflame looking for high flying speed, but is usually just eager to try and show off how cool she is.

What’s their favourite clothing style/outfit?

As with any pokemon that expects to move at speeds close to 300 MPH, protective gear and goggles are the main setups to aim for. But whenever things go wrong and the sky becomes a no-fly zone, you can usually see her in simpler clothing such as T-Shirt and shorts. As much as Blaise would want to go in something flashy or fancy, it can be hard to find clothes that are resistant to flames and won’t burn a hole in the pocket either.

Favourite music genre? Do they have a favourite song?

Any sort of music that can get you energized is likely found in her playlist, especially songs that a lot of stadiums or places use for battling. Though the extra energy can usually lead to problems. Especially the not paying attention type of problems.

Legendaries exist in many places across the world, often being deep into the sea or high into the sky. One such legendary that many almost never see is Skyler, a shiny rayquaza who has mostly secluded herself to the ozone layer and rarely visits other legendaries. While it might seem as if all she ever does is fly about through the sky, she usually spends time studying on the stories and legends that exist through each region. Often in the hopes of becoming a mentor like figure similar to a Yveltal she looks up to. However, a lot of this would have to be put on hold for the time being after a worrying situation occurred. An old friend of hers, a shiny kyogre by the name of Talia, had woken from her long slumber. Many of the other legendary pokemon were worried that without a careful eye on her she might cause trouble with the uncertainty of her powers. It was an understandable worry due to Talia’s short temper, but having to watch over her close seemed like a large task for someone who isn’t well around others. Though it wasn’t as if anyone else could do the task for her, making it now a goal for Skyler to at least attempt to connect with Talia. Hopefully, this could also be a perfect opportunity to experiment with trying to teach others and show Talia what has changed since she was last awake.

Name: Skyler Age: ( Unknown ) Gender: Female Species: Rayquaza ( Shiny ) Type: Dragon / Flying Pokemon Abilities: Air Lock ( Negates weather effects ) | Mega Rayquaza: Delta Stream ( Affects weather and eliminates all of the Flying type's weaknesses. ) Pokemon Moves: Dragon Ascent | Dragon Pulse | Crunch | Extreme Speed ( Hidden Moves: Fly ) Pokemon Level: 76 Likes: Transporting Others, Unique Foods, Teaching Others ( Skyler has been considering the idea of having pokemon ride with her to various destinations, but with the pokemon having their own pokeball there could likely be dangers with her speeds. It isn’t often for Skyler to indulge in the foods or treats that are prevalent in certain regions, making it rather nice to enjoy outside of her regular meals. Being a pokemon that looks up to a rather informative mentor, Skyler often finds herself trying to follow a similar path in explaining things or helping others. ) Dislikes: Battling Others, Difficult Topics, Colder Seasons ( Skyler is a very strong pokemon and is exactly able to control her strength so easily, making the offer to battle quite worrying unless she knows the pokemon can handle it. Due to mostly secluding herself away from others, Skyler has a difficult time when discussing topics she is unfamiliar with. Being a Dragon / Flying-type pokemon, colder seasons are the most dangerous for Skyler and are often avoided when possible. )

Through her travels Skyler has been looking through many details and stories, hoping to be quite the insightful pokemon like her mentor. Because of her insistence of not really talking with too many pokemon, she tends to be somewhat asocial when questions she is unfamiliar with start coming her way. )

As I begin to start finalizing my cast of characters, I realized that some characters ( About 4 in total ) could do with some design changes. Usually, it’s minor edits that can really help the design look nice and stand out, while other times it may be drastic ones such as choosing between regular and shiny colors. If anyone has an opinion on which color looks nice for both Emeline ( Dragapult ) and Archer ( Dreepy ) please be sure to let me know as I’ll be deciding this over the course of March. I may go with #2 since the colors really make Emeline look fierce.

“The Alola region is often seen as a very popular destination resort by both tourists and travelers alike. With many locations to enjoy, lots of fashion styles, and even delicious treats, it’s difficult to pass up a chance at such an amazing region. The culture is also very different from other regions, encouraging pokemon to work with others to achieve greater things. This has led to technology and services that rely on other pokemon, such as the Rotomdex or the Ride Service. Pokemon can request pokemon for travel using the Ride Service, and the Rotom Dex has helped in translating pokemon who were revived from fossils. You can certainly expect there to be many new discoveries upon your first visit to the region.

However, a major problem that stems from such a popular region are the many pokemon who are already dying to visit. You can expect to find almost any form of travel heading there to be booked or delayed in some fashion. Even if there is a chance for the region, it being far from other regions means the tickets will often be quite expensive. The easiest option most pokemon found was to swim from their destination to Alola, which is really only possible for pokemon who can make their home underwater. Needless to say, such a beautiful resort is only hindered by the travel needed to get there. Fortunately, the interest towards Alola has slowly begun to fade over the years with other regions to visit and explore. This has recently led to ticket prices for Alola being reduced to gain the last bit of flights and interest before many tourists and travelers move onto Galar. These offers might be appearing just after the summer season is over, but Alola is a beautiful place to visit regardless of the season. Who knows what kind of fun you can have, as well as the new pokemon to meet.”

But Myra is also very proud of being a wererat and doesn’t like to hide it so she decided the best time to show them was when they were in an abandoned, dimly-lit house

Due to a lot of recent laziness and just working on other things, I haven’t exactly shown this character to anyone if at all. Part of this is due to experimenting with a new reference style which would include a pokemon sprite, name text based on the generation they come from, the artist’s watermark, and a background based on the pokemon’s type to go along with the design. It is a lot to consider, but anything to help present them as a character is what I like to aim for.

“Did something specific inspire you to create them?”

This character was unfortunately not created by me as most designs I share were purchased as a commission or adoptable, as such all credit goes to the artist the character was purchased from. However, their design has seen a change from the original thanks to the artist supplying the project files after purchase. When redesigning characters I look to aim for simplicity where possible, allowing it to be easy to draw certain aspects in future images or commissions.

There is one reason why I purchased them, that being my planned cast of an eeveelution family. While I do only have 4 eeveelutions ( 2 Eevee, Jolteon, and a Sylveon ) I think a kind vaporeon would be a nice addition to the family.

Dreepy are often very weak pokemon in the eyes of many, being easily defeated by even the youngest of pokemon if given the chance. While on their own they’re weak, they can become stronger if trained by friends and family. Emeline herself was one such Dreepy who trained under her father and even took part in his battles when she was old enough. Dragapult could launch Dreepy through their horns at march speeds which the Dreepy usually enjoyed to the fullest. This training thanks to the help of her father helped Emeline for when she ever decided to consider battling as well, especially when she has Dreepy of her own. By the time she evolved into a Drakloak her father was proud to see the years caring for her daughter paying off with him wanting to see her enjoy life to the fullest. It was hard for her to leave home, but encouragement from her father and carrying her stuffed toy pushed her to do so. For a few months, Emeline wound up in a spot where she felt hesitant to battle or train for some time, even through her many attempts. She battled so much alongside her father that when it came time to battle on her own she was at a loss for what to do. It was only after one of her attempts to battle in the Wild Area led her to find a lone Dreepy who had wound up lost for some time. Emeline looked to help this little Dreepy find her parents, but through their searching and flyers nothing happened. Not wanting to see the Dreepy so sad, she took to giving him a proper place in her family. Having a Dreepy to take care of really helped Emeline feel a lot better being on her own, returning her interest in battling and would later push her to evolve into a Dragapult. She has made sure to speak to her father over the phone to seek help with her current predicament, but she feels a lot more is starting to turn upright for her. While she may just be a guardian to Archer, she wishes to take what her father had shown and share it with a Dreepy. Maybe Archer will even join her through the years as she battles her way through the gym battles.

( P.S: The Dreepy you see with Emeline is too young to constitute his own character sheet. While there is some info about them already developed, this info will only be shared with those who ask or inquire about him. Otherwise, he's simply the Dreepy found alongside a Dragapult like Emeline. )

( Looks to be in late 30’s ) Gender: Female Species: Dragapult Type: Dragon / Ghost Pokemon Abilities: Clear Body ( Prevents other Pokémon from lowering its stats. ) Pokemon Moves: Dragon Darts | Phantom Force | Dragon Rush | Dragon Breath ( Hidden Moves: Lock-On ) Pokemon Level: 66 Likes: Pokemon Battles, Target Practice, Plushies ( As Emeline wishes to both train herself and Archer through battles, she is more than willing to take the chance whenever possible. While Emeline has been a Dragapult for at least a few years now, she still likes to at least practice using Dragon Darts and making sure her aim is true. One of the things Emeline often enjoys a lot are plushies, mostly as she feels comfort in something she can hug with. ) Dislikes: Pulled Tail, Cold Seasons, Feeling Alone ( Emeline’s tail often catches the eye of many pokemon for its partial invisibility and how long it is, often leading to it being grabbed by pokemon and sometimes pulled when trying to stop her from leaving. While Emeline is a ghost type pokemon, she is still very much susceptible to the effects of the colder seasons and ice type moves. Ever since Emeline left her father’s care she had often struggled with being on her own, something she tends to worry about while away from Archer or when spending time by herself. )

Family: ( Father ), Archer ( Adopted Son ) Occupation ( Job ): Gym Challenger Relationships: Arthur ( Battle Partner ), Maria ( Friendly Babysitter ), Louisa ( Old Friend ) Personality: Affectionate, Protective, Dedicated ( Emeline cares a lot for other pokemon and is often pretty affectionate about it, mostly due to the fear of being alone as she was before. Having battled for many years alongside her father, Emeline likes to use her teachings and strength to protect others when she can. With newfound motivation after finding Archer, she is now dedicated to battling and help train Archer. )
