Crossover: Saving Hope & Vampire Diaries Characters: Joel Goran & Elena Gilbert Words: 9806 Genre: Romance/Family Rated: T OneShot: Joel hadn’t been home since he graduated med school and yet for some stupid reason he thought he should have Elena meet his parents. Apparently he’s an idiot.
Joel and his parents weren’t close. Sure he talked to them once a week, who was he kidding? Once a month. He had just never seen eye-to-eye with them. His parents lived in a small very traditional town. They where the type of people who went to church every Sunday, expected abstinence until marriage, a nine to five job, and for him to be married by thirty with 2.5 kids in a house with a white picket fence. Unfortunately for them Joel had been a one night stand type of guy, who while being a doctor was a surgeon and not a family practitioner or GP meaning he didn’t work normal hours, and a family? Yeah not really in the cards. Plus the last time he had gone to church was right before he left for college and his parents forced him.
So to say they didn’t get along might be a bit of an understatement. His mother always tried to guilt him into becoming the type of man she expected him to be and his father, well, his favorite lecture was the “I’m disappointed in you son”. Still he called once a month like a good son to check in. Even if the last time he saw them was when he graduated from med school.
They are his parents and he does love them.
This ship must be shipped and the story must be read. Awesome (as always)! :)
Of course they decided to give a teeny tiny bit of information about Joel’s parents after I’ve written a fic on them. Oh well.

[Part 1] – Joel takes Elena home to meet his parents
—-
So the first hour they where there went off without a hitch. Luckily they had arrived late enough in the day that dinner was close meaning his mother expected them to freshen up maybe even take a nap. She had shown them to their rooms. Joel was in his old one now converted to his mothers sewing room which had a pull out couch and Elena was in the guest bedroom.
Joel was currently napping on the bed having let Elena take the bathroom first for a shower. A soft hand pulled him back from his light dozen. Joel opened his eyes to find Elena kneeling beside the bed.
“Bathroom’s all yours,” she informed him.
Joel smiled lazily reaching out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. He was so tempted to pull her down onto the bed and snuggle into her fresh clean skin. Kiss her long and slow. Take his time to just enjoy her. Instead he pulled back.
“Thanks,” he mumbled grabbing his bag closing the bathroom door behind him. Something he hadn’t done in years.
.
Dinner was at seven sharp. It was finally time to face the music. Neither he nor Elena had really spoken to his parents. By the time they had both taken showers and changed into nicer clothes a couple of hours had passed. Neither had been in a rush to start the interrogation.
Joel remembered when Elena had taken him home for dinner. The fifty questions. The silent threats. The not so silent ones. And they had been relatively normal people. Not like his folks who where set in their ways.
“Oh wow this looks lovely,” Elena gushed.
Neither was particularly used to a full course meal. Joel was the cook between then but with his job he didn’t have much time too.
“Thank you sweetheart. Do you cook?” And so it began.
Elena smile never wavered even though Joel internally cringed. “No sadly I inherited my mother’s gift in the kitchen. The talent to burn everything black. My father was the cook.”
Joel didn’t miss the looks passed between his parents.
“I’m sure you could learn. You just need the right teacher. I would be more than happy to show you the ropes,” his mother responded.
“Oh that would be wonderful but I wouldn’t dare step into your kitchen. It’s lovely and I would feel terrible if my skills where to damage it,” Elena replied easily.
“Nonsense dear. Let me worry about that,” she waved off.
Elena nodded. “Well than how can I refuse?”
Joel decided in that moment Elena was a saint.
“Shall we say grace?” his father interrupted.
“Yes dear.” His mother clasped her hand together bowing her head. Elena and Joel following suit.
“Bless us, O Lord, and these your gifts, which we are about to receive from your bounty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen,” his father recited.
A course of “Amen’s” went around the table and they all lifted their heads. Food was passed around and the meal remained quiet until everyone was served.
“So Elena,” his father began. It took a lot of effort for Joel to swallow his food. “What is it you do?”
“I’m an author,” Elena answered.
“You’ve been published?” he questioned.
“I’ve published six books, two are from a single series I’m writing, and I’m current working on my seventh, the third book,” Elena informed him taking a bite of her food.
“I bet they’ve sold well,” his mother announced.
“Enough to keep publishing them,” she joked.
“Elena’s just being modest,” Joel cut in. “She’s had book tours and readings. Her last book made it on the best seller list.” Elena blushed.
“How wonderful!” she exclaimed. “We’ll will have to read them. Won’t we hon?”
He grunted in agreement.
Both Joel and Elena exchanged a look of horror.
“So Joel dear, when are you going to ask Elena to marry you?”
Joel has no idea how he manages not to choke. “Mom!”
“Oh come now. It’s serious enough to bring her home you must be planning on marrying her.” His mother turned to Elena. “Elena tell me what are your thoughts on children?”
“Mom!”
“Hush now.” She waved him off.
“I’ve always wanted children,” Elena confessed. “Someday.”
Their eyes met and Joel felt his heart pound in his chest. They hadn’t really talked about any of this.
“Wonderful. You should move back here. It’s a wonderful environment to raise children. We have a lovely church, the houses have large yards for them to play, and I’m sure Joel could get a job at the hospital in the town over.”
“Actually we’re going to stay in the city. Joel is Chef of Surgery now. We couldn’t possibly move,” Elena directed the conversation towards Joel.
“Chef of Surgery? Congratulations.” His father clasped him on the shoulder.
“Wonderful honey. I’m so proud of you.” His mother beamed.
“He’s an amazing doctor.” Elena smirked taking a sip of her ice tea.
“I hope it’s not too much work,” his mother seemed to realize. “After all you need time for your family.”
“It’s no nine to five,” Joel admitted. “But I’m getting better at balancing.”
“I knew what I was getting into when we started dating.” Elena winked at him.
“So understanding,” his mother cooed.
“Tell us about your family,” his father ordered.
Joel was tempted to say something about his tone but Elena was already answering, “I have a younger brother, Jeremy, my Aunt Jenna, and her husband Alaric.”
“Where are your parents?” his mom asked.
“They died in a car crash when I was in high school,” Elena answered.
She gasped covering her mouth.
“I’m sorry for your loose,” his father spoke. “At least they’re in a better place.”
“Thank you.”
“Is your family close?” his mother questioned.
“We are. I talk to one of them every day.”
“That’s good. Family is important.”
Elena nodded in agreement. “It is.”
“You’re christen I’m assuming. I can’t wait to introduce you to our pastor this Sunday. He in a wonderful man. You remember him Joel?” She turned to her son.
Joel nodded. “Of course.”
“I’ll get to introduce you to everyone. Joel the Chef of Surgery and his fiancé,” she sighed dreamily.
“Mom, we’re not engaged,” Joel reminded her.
“Perhaps you should ask her,” his father pointed out.
Joel fought the urge to slam his head into the table.
.
Dinner continued on in this fashion. His parents trying to push their ways on them. Elena handling things so much better than him. Elena offering to do the dishes. Dessert and more questions. By nine o’clock everyone was turning in because his parents where strict in their schedule which meant they had to be too. Joel already wanted to pack up his bed and go home.
Lying in bed he found himself tossing and turning. This was the first night he’d slept alone in almost two years not including crashing in the on call room. He glanced at the clock to find it was after midnight and he was still no closer to sleep.
Making a decision Joel crawled out of bed carefully making it to the room next door without so much as a squeaky floorboard. Even after all this time he remembered everything about this house even how to open the door without making a sound. Closing it behind him with a soft click. He made his way over to the bed.
“Couldn’t sleep either?” Elena voice caused him to jump a foot in the air.
“Shit,” he hissed quietly. “Don’t do that.”
Elena chuckled scooting over in bed. Joel crawled in beside her. Elena curled into him head resting on his shoulder.
“You can’t stay,” she reminded him.
Joel sighed. “I know. Just give me a minute.”
Elena nodded. “Okay.”
The silence was deafening. Out in the country the only sounds where from the wind. No cars, no dogs barking, no trains, nothing.
“I can’t sleep without you.”
He could feel Elena smile against his skin.
Lilly was Joel newest patient only seven years old. She had broken her leg which wasn’t any big deal especially in children who tend to break bones far too often. What was different in this little girl was the reason why her leg had broken. She had cancer and the chemo did horrid things to her system including weakening her bones.
He was just finishing up the cast when a book set on the table caught his eye. “What this?” He gestured over at the book.
Lilly’s face lit up. “It’s my favorite book! It’s by Elena Gilbert she’s amazing! All her books are amazing! I wish I could write like her!”
“Hold still,” Joel chuckled at her flailing.
“Sorry.” She stilled.
“So you really like her,” Joel continued.
She nodded vigorously but doing her best to remain otherwise still. “I love all her books but Always and Forever is her very best!”
“Why’s that?”
“Because it has vampires and werewolves and doppelgangers.”
“Doppelgangers?”
“The main character she’s one but she didn’t know it! They have magic blood! Ones born every five hundred years! And this one she falls in love with an Original Vampire! His name’s Elijah. He’s so nice and sweet and such a gentleman and he really cares about Elena. I’m glad she ended up with him and not one of the Salvatore’s.” She made this adorable disgusted face at the name. “I have all of her books.”
“All of them?” Joel asked as if in awe.
“All of them!” She snatched up the book holding it tight to her chest. “I wanted to go to her book signing but Mom said I couldn’t that I had to stay in the hospital. It’s not fair. I’d come right back.” Her eyes water.
“Hey.” Joel reached out rubbing a hand over her bald head. “I’m sure you’ll get to see her next time.”
She nodded but didn’t reply. Joel had read her charts. She could get better but it wasn’t looking likely. If things kept up the way that they where Lily wouldn’t make it to the next signing.
.
When Joel arrived home he found Elena curled up on the couch with her laptop typing away. Upon the click of the door closing she glanced up her eyes lighting at the sight of him and Joel remembered why he had finally decided to commit with her. For that look she gets every time she sees him.
“Welcome home.” She set aside the laptop. “How was your day?” She reached out making ridiculously cute grabby hands at him.
Joel laughed but gave in crossing the room to her. “I actually have a favor to ask of you.”
Elena snuggled into his lap. “Oh really?”
.
“Lily,”’ Joel called out stepping into the room.
“Hi Dr. Goran!” she greeted with that same wide smile.
“I was wondering if you had time to meet a friend of mine?” he asked her.
She nodded. “Sure.”
Joel reached out tugging Elena into the room. “This is-” he never got to finish his sentence.
“Elena Gilbert!” she squealed so loudly that Joel flinched at the sound.
“It’s nice to meet you Lily. Dr. Goran says that you couldn’t make it to my book signing so I decided that I couldn’t let that stand so I came to you,” Elena told her.
“Really?” she gasped in awe.
“Really.” Elena walked over to her bedside picking up the book. “Wow this is really worn. You must have read it a lot.”
“It’s my favorite,” Lily proudly informed her.
Elena sat down in the chair. “Mine too.” She glanced over to Joel. “Can I borrow your pen?” Joel complied quickly taking the pen from his pocket and handing it over. “To Lily my new friend, Love Elena.” She handed the pen back over. “You want to know a secret?” She leaned in close.
“What?” Lily leaning in as well.
“I always imagined Elijah to look like Dr. Goran,” she told her in a mock whisper causing Joel to blush. He had know she wrote the book after they had gotten together but she had never told him Elijah was based off him.
If anything Lily’s eyes grew wider. “He is!”
“He is. I mean accept for the suit and the fact Elijah shaves and I think our Dr. Goran he is allergic to shaving as he never does.” Elena giggled causing Lily to as well. “I was wondering if you could help me.”
“Me help you?” How could one little girls eyes get so wide?
“Yes you see I’m writing my new book and I was wondering if I could read to you what I have and you could tell me what you think. How does that sound?”
“Yes! Please oh please oh please read to me!” she begged.
“I would love to.” Elena sat back flipping opened her laptop.
Joel stood in the doorway just watching as Lily listened intently to Elena’s every word. Lily looked so happy. In fact she looked better than Joel had seen her in days. He never realized how important she was. This one little girl was having the best day of her life one she would always remember all because Elena was reading to her. It never occurred to him how much she affected people’s lives.
.
Back hope Joel wrapped his arms around Elena’s waist kissing her cheek. “I love you.”
Elena hummed happily. “I love you too.”
His grip tightened. “I know I never tell you but you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Could this be any more perfect? There´s even Elejah present. Thank you, you are the best!
Been at a Doctor Who party all day. Am so exhausted just want to crawl into bed and sleep but I’m filling this prompt instead for you guys. Enjoy!

[Part 1] – Elena travels back in time only instead of going to the night of her parents car crash she ends up a thousand years in the past with a very human Elijah.
—-
Elena fell backward hands raised to shield herself waiting for the bite that never came. She gasped opening her eyes finding herself on a random street in Mystic Falls. Her head was killing her but other than that she seemed okay. Ayana managed to send her back just before the werewolf got his teeth into her.
Standing shakily Elena looked around getting her bearings. She realized that she was only a few streets over from the house Elijah was currently living in. A fact that almost made her laugh. Out of all the places to reappear she landed closest to Elijah’s home. Logic told her she had reappeared in the same spot the spell had taken place. She should be grateful she didn’t appear in some random house. Still after everything that happened with Human Elijah to end up near hers it was almost like fate.
She was tempted to walk home. She was a vampire now it would take too long to get back to her apartment. Still her feet started in the direction of his house.
She barely arrived at his front door when it swung opened. “Elena.” Relief was clear on his face. “What happened? Where have you been? When things didn’t change and you never reappeared we feared the worst. Bonnie’s been trying to track you down since yesterday.”
“Elijah,” she found herself whimpering his name. He didn’t remember anything. Not the conversation they had, not the kiss, not the declaration of his love for her, and not his promise to never love anyone else like he loved her. Ayana made sure of that. It was like it never happened.
“Elena?” Elijah’s face shifted with concern and she couldn’t stop herself.
Elena threw herself into his arms silent sobs racking through her body. “Elijah.”
.
He had managed to get her into the house settling her on the couch. He also called the others letting them know he had located Elena. He sat down beside her watching Elena’s features. She looked so heartbroken. Where had she been? What had happened?
“Elena,” his voice snapped her from herself.
She wiped the tears away. “Yeah?”
“Where where you?” he asked again.
She shook her head. “It doesn’t matter now.”
“Elena,” he tried again. “Did the spell work?” She didn’t answer. “Did you even travel in time?”
“I did,” she murmured.
“If not to the night of your parents accident then when?” he pressed.
Elena closed her eyes shaking her head. “I’m tired. I should go home.” She stood up.
He reached out grasping her shoulder softly. “Please, talk to me. You’ve always said I was the only person you could tell anything to. Why not this?”
“Because what does it matter?” she demanded. “It was like it never happened.”
“Like what never happened?” Whatever it was was eating at her.
“I don’t even know why I’m upset,” she said instead. “I mean it was only two days. No one can actually fall in love that quickly. There’s no love at first sight. I just let myself get swept away by him because of the feelings I already had. It was stupid. I was stupid.”
Elijah’s heart clinched. “Who?”
Elena seemed to realize who she was talking to and stopped. “What happened in the past is the past. She made sure it was all erased like it never even happened.”
Elena took off leaving Elijah standing in her wake confused and possibly heartbroken.
.
“Can you figure out where you sent her too?” Elijah demanded.
“I don’t know. Time travel its difficult and uncontrolled because changing anything effects nature. Truth was I didn’t actually think it would work. I thought the spell was going to fail. The fact that it didn’t and sent her somewhere else I don’t even know where to began,” Bonnie explained.
“I need to know.”
Bonnie stared into his eyes. He needed to do this to help Elena. She sighed but nodded. “Okay. I’ll try.”
.
Two hours later Elijah was staring at Bonnie as she contacted the spirits. She had said it was the best was. A witch would have had to send her back and they would remember her. The witch would be able to tell them exactly what happened. Only the witches where still not on the best terms with Bonnie.
“Ayana,” Bonnie spoke the first words since she started. “Wait you sent her back?” Elijah’s stomach flipped. “When was she? … She went that far back? … Thank you for telling me.” Bonnie’s eyes opened.
“When?” Elijah asked but he had an idea.
“When you where still human,” Bonnie answered.
He nodded. “That doesn’t explain why she’s so upset. Did Ayana give you any more details?”
Bonnie frowned shaking her head. “Just that we should talk to Elena. That it wasn’t her place to say anymore.”
Elijah stood up. “Thank you.”
.
Elena closed her laptop. She couldn’t concentrate. All she could think about was Elijah. She cared just as much as Original Elijah as Human Elijah. She probably cared so much about Human Elijah because of her feelings for Original Elijah only she hadn’t realized them before. To hear him say those things, to offer her that life… She wanted it. She wanted it more than anything.
A knock on her door forced her back to the now where her Elijah was her friend and nothing more. He had made it clear they would never be anything else.
“Elijah.” Elena shouldn’t have been surprised to find him standing outside her door.
“Who was he?” was the first things out of his mouth. He was never rude or abrupt like this. In fact he looked upset.
“What?” she gasped out.
“Who from my human life did you fall in love with?” Elijah clarified. Her stomach dropped. “Yes I know when you went to. Who from my village did you fall in love with? Was if one of my siblings? Finn perhaps?”
Elena shook her head. “No.”
“Then who?” he was begging her now. Why was he so upset what did it matter? “Elena please who?”
She swallowed. It was like she couldn’t breathe. “Y-you,” she choked out. “You.” Elijah stood there speechless. “It was you.” She stepped back turning her back away from him trying to collect herself. “You asked me to stay. You said you could make me happy and I wanted to. I wanted to stay. It was stupid but I did. But I’m a vampire and I couldn’t. And then you had to go and say that you’d never love anyone like you loved me.” Her hands were shaking. “That’s what happened okay? Than Ayana erased your memories and it was like it never happened.”
Elena was spun around to find lips pressed to her own in a frantic kiss.
“I never did,” Elijah spoke into her mouth.
“What?” Her head was spinning.
“I never loved anyone the way I love you.” Tears fell down her face and Elena clung onto his suit. “I may not remember but there’s always been this emptiness I could never fill. Not until you came into my life. I’ve loved you for a thousand years. I just didn’t know it.”
Elena was in full blown tears. “I love you too. I love you so much.”
Elijah smiled kissing her again this time slowly carefully, the way he always wanted to. He’d have to talk to Bonnie about getting those memories back.
Now I am crying happy tears myself. Thank you SO MUCH, this is BEAUTIFUL!:)
Gif Sets
Okay so like five of you answered my question all positive so I’m gonna take that as a yes Erin do it! Here’s what we’re going to do. I want to to reply or reblog this with the link of which fic you want turned into a gif set. If I don’t get any feedback well I guess this will be dead in the water. But if you do have one you’re dying to see gif-itized (not a real word but I don’t care) submit it!
I had so much fun with selecting, taking the drabbles out of the binder, re-reading them and trying hard to choose one. With some of my fav gif-itizing would not be possible (like probably the Elena/Joel/(Elijah) ones, I have no idea why I have a soft spot for these as I am a die-hard Elejah shipper, or the one about Elijah giving Elena dream of having sex with him as human or my nr.one at the moment of Elena traveling back to Elijah´s human years. With Kol, EE work great as well, all from NO - I love Elena in this universe... SO MANY GOODIES!:)
I ended up with two, you might be the right person to decide which one is more fitting for your project.

Elijah would be an amazing Dad. He and Elena would be wonderful parents together.

Elijah awoke to the sound of crying. Elena shifted beside him.
“Go back to sleep I’ve got her,” Elijah murmured pressing a kiss to his wife’s head.
Elena made an unintelligible noise in response before burying herself into the mattress.
Dragging himself out of bed Elijah padded barefoot down the hall. Coming onto the room where the crying was coming from Elijah entered the nursery. Standing over the crib the beautiful tiny baby was shouting her heart out, red faced and completely unhappy.
“Hello my angel,” Elijah cooed at the crying newborn. “What’s wrong?” He reached down lifting her up. He held her gently in his arms rocking her comfortingly. “What’s got you all upset?” The crying began to slow as her big brown eyes blinked up at her father. “You know waking us up thirty times a night is not helping with our sleep.” Elijah moved to sit down in the rocking chair. “We need some sleep. You’re mother is not very nice if she hasn’t had her rest.” She reached up at Elijah face grabbing at his chin. “No she’s not. I love her but she’s very cranky and mean without her sleep. We don’t like that, no we don’t.” She giggled causing Elijah to smile. “How about we get some sleep ourselves? We’ve got a big day ahead of ourselves. Auntie Caroline is coming over and she is always exhausting.” Elijah leaned back into the chair resting her against his chest. “She will probably be bringing Uncle Klaus. I don’t know why he’s really not good with babies. Or kids. Or people for that matter.” Elijah yawned. “He’s getting better though. Mommy still doesn’t like him but she puts up with him for me. Because she loved me. We love Mommy…”
.
Elena awoke to an empty bed. Blinking she glanced around the room before moving to find her missing husband. Coming onto the nursery Elena leaned against the doorframe smiling fondly at her husband who was fast asleep in the rocking chair cradling their daughter to his chest.
OH MY, I can´t even express how much I love this!:)
So I just wanted to say welcome for the 14 new followers that have joined us this week! I have no idea why I became so popular this week but I’m happy to have you!
—
Elena didn’t go to him. They weren’t together. They had spent one night together. There was no commitment, no romance, hell whatever friendship they had seemed to evaporate after that night so what exactly was she suppose to say to him? “Elijah hey listen I know you and I had sex once because of some spell a witch casted on us before she locked us in a room together I just thought you’d want to know that hey I’m pregnant which should be impossible as both of us are vampires but apparently it’s not so impossible.” Yeah that would go over well.
Elena spent a long time debating about what she wanted to do. Have an abortion, put the baby up for adoption, keep it? There were things she had to consider. First being what this baby would be. A child of two vampires one being an original created by magic. She highly doubted it would be human and even if it was she knew it would be wanted by everyone vampire, witch, werewolf… She didn’t know if she could protect it. Giving her baby up for adoption it was probably her best option but there were two issues for that. One being if her baby wasn’t human they wouldn’t know what to do. Second being it was her baby. She always wanted to have children but she became a vampire and that made it impossible. At least it was impossible.
Still if she kept her baby then there was a risk of people finding out and it would put her baby in harm’s way. None of the options where what she wanted. None ended well and yet she couldn’t bring herself to abort and she couldn’t do adoption so that left her one option. She would keep the baby. There would be challenges. Many many challenges but she would figure it out. She would make it work. No one could know the baby was in fact her. She’d say she adopted it was the only option she had.
What through a kink in her plans was when the one person she didn’t expect to see showed up on her doorstep. After that night Elijah had disappeared without a word. No letter waiting on her bed this time. Elena figured it was for the best once she found out she was pregnant. Not that it didn’t hurt. Elena had fallen or the Original hard but he never showed any interest in her that way. He had made it clear he would never be with a doppelganger again. Only now he was standing at her door apparently not learning until she answered.
“Elena we need to talk. I know you’re in there,” Elijah called through the wood.
Elena stared down at her eighteen week belly. There was no way to hide how pregnant she was. Especially not in May with the weather so warm.
“Elena, please talk to me. I’m sorry. It never should have happened. If I had stopped her than maybe-”
“You think I care about the fact we had sex?” Elena cut him off. “No what I care about is afterward you ran off without a word that what we did was so horrible.” It crushed any dreams of them having a future together.
“It was wrong of me. I ran and I shouldn’t have,” he replied hand pressed to the wood.
Elena wrapped her arms around her belly. “Was it really so awful?” she couldn’t help but ask. What did she have to lose now? Their friendship had already been severed.
“Elena it wasn’t that. No.” He shook his head. “God Elena what we did. It wasn’t us.”
Her eyes watered. “You mean it wasn’t you.”
There was a long silence. Elena thought he finally left when, “Elena do you—did you—if it had been under different circumstances, no magic, would you still have want me?”
Elena licked her lips. “Yes.”
Elijah rested his forehead against the door. “Me too.”
Elena couldn’t help the bubble of laugher. “Yeah?”
Elijah nodded. “Yeah.”
Elena reached to open the door when she remembered. She was pregnant.
“Can I ask you something?” Elena clutched the knob but didn’t turn it.
“Anything,” his answer was instant.
“When you where human, did you want kids? A family?” If her heart still beat it would have been thudding in her chest.
Elijah’s brows furrowed at the question in confusion but he answered anyways, “Yes. Tatia had a son. I wanted to be the boy’s father. To raise him. To have our own. I wanted that more than anything. A family.”
Elena let out a breath of relief tugging the door opened. Elijah smiled with relief about to pull her in and kiss her senseless when he noticed her belly.
“Elena?” he questioned.
“The spell whatever it was. It—I’m pregnant with your child.” She steeled herself for whatever would happen next.
His eyes never left her stomach as his hand reached out to touch her. “You’re pregnant. With my child.”
“Yes,” she whispered.
Elijah laughed a smile so wide and happy like Elena never had seen before covered his features. “I’m going to be a father.”
“If you want.”
Elijah glanced up to her face. “Yes. Yes I do.” He cupped her face brushing the fallen tears away. “Very much.” It only made Elena cry harder especially when he kissed her.
BEAUTIFUL!:)
Welcome to tumblr! I’m so glad you loved “A Glimpse Into The Future” it’s my personal favorite just because it came together so well. Though I’m sorry I’m not going to make a sequel. I just liked how it ended with so much mystery for the future how things could change or possibly become exactly as they were seen.
Joel I’ve found is so fun to write. Enjoy!

[Part 1] – Elena meets Joel Goran, Elijah’s doppelganger, who has more than a passing interest in her
[Part 2] – Joel runs into Elijah and quickly figures out this was the man Elena told him about
—-
Elijah stood outside her door. Had been standing outside her door for a good ten minutes. He couldn’t stop thinking about what Joel had said. Some guy was going to swoop in and steal her heart. Joel could have been that guy. He was charming and he was his doppelganger. Elena could have so easily ended up in his bed.
But she hadn’t because she loved him. That’s what he had said. The thing was Elijah already knew that. He had known for a while but he hadn’t acted on the knowledge. Why? Because she was a doppelganger and he had been burned by them before? Just because she had their faces didn’t make her them. In fact he had never met anyone else like her.
After meeting his own doppelganger he realized for the first time how true this was. He wasn’t Joel just as Joel wasn’t him. So he was making his move.
Elijah knocked on the door. A few seconds later he heard the lock turn and the door opened. The smile she normally saved for him was gone instead a tiredness reflected in her eyes.
“Not tonight Elijah,” she sighed.
Elijah didn’t wait for her to close the door reaching out he cupped her face and kissing her just like he’s wanted to for years. She was frozen only for a moment before her hands came up to grasp his jacket pulling him closer. They kissed like they were finally breaking free. They didn’t hold back.
“I’m sorry it took me so long,” he spoke into her mouth.
Elena smiled and instead of replying she tugged him inside kicking the door shut.
