First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH YOURE SO SWEET AAAAA. Your drawings are absolutely lovely, I love your color palettes and how intricate your backgrounds are! oh my gosh this means so much to me, thank you for asking 🤧 I’ll gush about the main stories I post on here, warning its MANY words (also tw for discussions of religion in the Anchored section) :
Magica High is about 6 high school students who had to defeat a human scientist trying to overtake the school. It is the only story I have written start to finish (even if I was like 10 when I wrote it). They’ve changed so much throughout the years but they are such a soft spot because I’ve spent most of my life with them. As embarrassing as it is to say, I even dressed up as Naomi (The blue dragon girl) for Halloween when I was younger. Naomi used to be my very obvious favorite, but my love has spanned out equally now lol. From left to right, Apollo/Po can transform into other mammals, Luynika is a witch, Madi has flower seeds embedded into her skin and can feel the emotions/revive other plants, Marcus is a wizard, Naomi is a half human/dragon, and Xander is a shadow manipulator!
What Wavers Between a Princess and a Rebel (usually refer to as WWBPR) is about a rebel and princess falling in loovveeee and learning to depend on others. The main story is sorta bland, but their world is the most complex I’ve written (also trying to write their entire story!)
One character I don’t talk about enough is Griselda! She’s the current queen of the dark kingdom. The dark kingdom is the least politically influential, primarily because dark fairies rest for most of the year. In their small time awake, dark fairies' main passions are art and music. This leads the fairies living solitary lives, rarely getting married or having children. They don't have a conventional "royal family" either. Inheritance to the throne is (essentially) sheer luck. Upon a fairy's random time of waking, their duty is to check on the current ruler of the dark kingdom. If the ruler is no longer living, congrats, that fairy is the new ruler! Griselda only appears once in the story, but I adore her so much. Even in her rare times outside of slumber, I'd consider her a capable ruler, And she's charitable, so always love that lol. She’s aloof, and she loves eating raspberries (Look at her, so cute :3 🩷)
Anchored is my siren/pirate story (and contains the cute girlie in my pfp >///<). Is it weird to say I'm conflicted with these characters--especially the main characters Dahlia and Audie? I've gone back & forth loving both, loving one, hating the other, hating both... The morality of these two is very subjective and something I can’t pinpoint.
Audie may be a good person; his pirate crew is made up of weak individuals in need of refuge. His deafness doesn't define him & he leads a pirate ship in spite of it. But he's cruel to advantageous individuals, especially when they misconstrue the design of Anchored's world their God designed. And I mean, he kills Dahlia & her child in the end 😬 yikes
Dahlia is also difficult. In a nutshell, the god of this world (named Panjaya) created most animals & nature. Eventually she created humans, who evolved the world where Panjaya no longer had to intervene. She gets lonely—forever stuck in the ocean—so Panjaya "blesses" few children upon birth to have fish-like qualities & spend their lives with her. Sirens don't have much a purpose outside the ocean—they're admired by humans on land, but lack an identity outside of Panjaya. Dahlia is but a shell of a person. Once she experiences life above water, she gains passion & the most human emotion: selfishness.
There was an older aspect of Panjaya's tale ALLEGEDLY says sirens can stay on land forever with a true love's kiss. This was considered controversial by loyal Panjaya followers, so they ignored it. I believe Dahlia & Audie loved one another (Audie loved her as an aspect of his religion, expecting her to be close to Panjaya—Dahlia loved him in expectations of a life beyond waters & not being a child of Panjaya), but their clashing ideologies didn't work. ESPECIALLY when Dahlia wanted to kiss Audie but he pulled back at the last second on the slight chance the tale was true.
Years after Dahlia ran away from that night, Audie's suspicions were confirmed. A siren going against Panjaya's design was hazardous, their God may stop crops from growing, or the water to be drinkable & safely traversed. So when Audie was met with an unmistakably human Dahlia and a child never meant to be conceived? He saw it as the safe thing to do for the world!
To judge her on humans standards, she was brash, rebellious, selfish, and egotistical. But as a siren, Dahlia was naive—she quite literally did not know better. Both their short-sightedness caused so much angst in this story. Thankfully they’re like the most depressive characters in this story (Might be a lie…someone on the pirate crew may be worse…)
I tried to be concise, but I can’t hold back when it comes to my OCs 😭 I hope this was entertaining for you and not a bedtime story or anything. Once again thank you for giving me a reason to write an essay’s worth of words about my characters, I expect to hear about yours next 👀👀 (I’m especially intrigued by the ones above your pfp, they look so cute!)
