Derek is seen as a monster and has secluded himself from society to ’ keep them safe ’ and ’ appease the people. ’ However, one day, Stiles, a human, ends up in Derek’s neck of the woods, passed out and injured. Despite the the promise Derek made to never interact with another human, he just cant leave the boy there. So he takes him home to try and nurse him back to health.

When Stiles wakes up, he isn’t sure where he is. All he knows is there is a creature in front of him that isn’t human. He didn’t believe in the rumors until now and even then, he isn’t quite sure Derek is truly a monster like everyone says he is.

“You sure this looks alright?” Derek hadn’t decorated a tree in years. Ever since the fire he’d been great just ignoring Christmas and every other holiday no matter how many times Laura had groaned.

It was Christmas in a few weeks and the Hales had to accept their oldest daughter wouldn’t end up bearing a child any time soon. She had tried, they all had supported her, but she wasn’t going to end up with child without extensive hormone therapy, which would have to wait. For now, they had a different idea. There were plenty of children yearning for a place to live - for a family and love. They had all that and they were willing to give that to a child they didn’t know.

So, they were on their way to one of the group homes to get to know a few of the kids, talk to the caretakers and see what they could do. But when they got there, nobody seemed to even notice them - people were running, yelling, worrying. What happened? Derek had wanted to come to see his new sibling and so it was him, Talia and Laura wondering what happened.
