You might as well just stop crying. It doesn't mean much to me anymore, its a little too late to start trying.

The Past

Blayne's childhood was one of horrors. His father a drug addict and his mother a drunk, Blayne only just got along with his brother. When it came time to leave for college, Blayne relished the chance. He was free to be himself, and studying Psychology made him realise just how dark he really was.

The Present

His childhood long behind him, Blayne pretends most of it never happened. He never even talks to his brother anymore. His life is spent between three things: his work as a TA, his girl Emma, and his friend Joe. He's using his knowledge to help Joe build his cult, one that Emma has joined as well.

Personality

The fact that Blayne loves to kill, that he enjoys tearing people's lives apart, is never apparent to those that pass him by in the corridor. He manages to pass as normal, a carefree guy. However, when that urge crosses him, and he allows himself to give in to it, he's extremely violent.

Emma Moore: his girlfriend.

The Past

Danny grew up in New Jersey, with a good, normal, big family. His father is a firefighter, and his mother always was around to care for him. Because of that, he found it difficult to move to California. In fact, he rather hates it at times, wishing he was back in New Jersey.

The Present

Although he doesn't much like it here, Danny is still determined to do his best, to get the best results possible. After he finishes college, he plans to go into the police force, to make his father proud. But for now, he spends most of his time studying.

Personality

Danny is very emotional, although he'd hate to be called that. If he's angry with someone, he'll tell them. But he's also just as likely to tell people that he likes them. However, his vocal dislike for relaxed personal matters, and pretty much anything Californian, has left him without many friends.

The Past

Joe’s past seems to be quite ordinary if you look at it. Only child, his parents were workaholics, but he never really had any problems with them. His life in London always seemed perfect. But for some reason, he moved to America to study at the Institute, majoring in Literature. See, what no one knows, is he murdered a girl over there, and was scared to stay there in case they ever found out it was him. But they didn’t.

The Present

Right now, Joe is the TA of Literature, although he despises the professor. One day, he will be a professor himself, he is sure of that. When he’s not reading or working on his own novel, he is making “friends”. Blayne, his closest friend and someone he studied with while in college, is helping him to create a cult, a cult of murderers terrorising the school from the shadows.

Personality

When people meet Joe, they think he is not only smart, he is charming and charismatic. But there is certainly a dark side that lies underneath him, one he is skilled at hiding. Not only does he like killing, he is manipulative, and struggles every second to keep his temper under control. When it unleashes, it is very violent for anyone nearby, even if they are his friend.

The Past

Nell had the perfect childhood, never anything bad happening. She has a sister who sometimes drives her insane, and parents who sometimes made her feel embarrassed, but otherwise, perfect. She was also lucky to never get bullied at school, even though she is a bit of a nerd.

The Present

Excited to finally be attending college, Nell splits her time between the computer lab and the gym. She refuses to be the typical geek, even though she certainly is a good geek. She also enjoys spending time with her childhood friend, Nate Getz, and challenging Eric Beale, a classmate

Personality

Nell would be the first to admit that she has some control issues, and that she has mild ADD. But her intelligence and loyalty certainly make up for that. A tomboy, she is more sarcastic than people realise, and has the tendency to challenge men that she admires more so than women.

The Past

There isn’t much exciting about Eric’s past. He’s an only child, and both of his parents treated him great while growing up. Sure, he did get teased for being a nerd for years, but once he learned to surf, he stopped taking too much offence at it, realising he’s always going to be different to them.

The Present

Being a sophomore, Eric has been at the Institute for a year. He loves it, splitting all his time between either the computer labs honing his hacking skills or at the beach, surfing. He, like some of the other nerds around the place, has trouble making friends but only because of his awkwardness.

Personality

Eric is extremely nerdy, and often makes jokes that no one else understands. However, he’s not as pathetic as most people think. When it comes to computers, he’s capable of nearly anything, and it makes him feel confident. Until Nell Jones walks into the room, that is. Then he becomes even more awkward than usual.

Relationships

Nell Jones: the infuriating girl he has a crush on.

The Past

David Rossi received an honourable discharge from the Marines, something he considers to have been a lifetime ago. Since then, he has married three times, but never did any of them last, although he has kept a good relationship with each of the wives.

The Present

Rossi has been teaching at the Institute for five years now. He’d taken an early retirement from a different job, but boredom beckoned him into teaching. He also is writing books, so it is no wonder that he is an inspiration to many of the students.

Personality

Like many teachers here at the Institute, Rossi is extremely sarcastic. However, he makes more of an effort to help his students than most of the other teachers. While he makes sarcastic remarks, he’d also do anything they need to help them. And those who become his favourites sometimes are lucky enough to experience a Rossi cooking lesson at his mansion.

Alex has never had a difficult life. Loving parents, good memories, and all that stuff. She’s never had any reason to complain. She even got engaged two years ago, on the day she and her long time boyfriend graduated from the Institute.

The Present

Alex finished college two years ago, and since stayed on as Jason Gideon’s TA, although her true love is languages and profiling. She is just trying to get more experience so that she can get the perfect job. However, she is missing her fiancée, James, who has left to be a part of Doctors without Borders.

Personality

Serious, passionate, and intelligent, she is as quick with a fact as she is for helping those she knows needs it. Having a passion for linguistics, she has a silver tongue that often gets her out of any trouble she should happen to find herself in.

A native Texan, she was born and raised on her family's horse ranch. She worked closely with her dad, learning the job of horse breeder, but her passion was fashion design. The Present

Finally well onto her way to pursuing her dream job at CIHL, she has gone out of her way to avoid making friends with anyone more than she has to. But now she is slowly opening again to the people around her and might possibly even give one Eliot Spencer a second chance.

Personality

Open and breezy, she can be tough from years raised around horses and raised with four brothers. She is also typically southern, with thick drawl and polite manners normally not in Californians.

RP Event: Lockdown

It's an ordinary day at CIHL. Until the alarm goes, and over the PA system, you hear "This is not a drill. The Institute is in lockdown. Please stay where you are, and remain silent, until further notice." Do you stay where you are? Look around. You are not alone. There are others trapped with you. What is happening? Perhaps you don't really want to know the truth.

To encourage members to talk to new people, we have created an event whereby each of your characters is locked in a room with one other student. Please note who your partner is for this prompt, where you are located, and over the next seven days, start a para. You will have as much time to complete the para as you'd like, but please respond to this. If you are unable to do so, message the admins please so they can find a different solution.

Alice Parker + Spencer Reid: While exploring the campus, the alarm went off, and Alice picked the lock of the first door she passed so she could hide. Only problem is, the room was already occupied.

Lena Smith + Penelope Garcia: Both of these outspoken girls were studying in the library when the alarm sounded, and now they are left to wonder what is going on.

Abigail Sciuto + Maeve Donovan: An unlikely pair, the girls were in the science labs working on research. Once the alarms went off, the power in the labs turned off, and they are stuck in darkness.

Sophie Devereaux + Ziva David: Trying to finalise some paperwork, Ziva had been left in the office when the alarms went off. Now she is stuck in a room with another person with a secret past.

Nate Ford + Aaron Hotchner: Running an errand for Professor Rossi, the last thing Aaron expected was to find the Institute in lockdown, and to be stuck in the drunk teacher's office.

Seeley Booth + Alec Hardison: These two guys are extremely different, and yet they have found themselves trapped in the computer labs, trying to pass the time until the lockdown ends.

Please note: No characters will be aware of the true reason for the lockdown, not even the teachers. The cause will be announced in one week, and believe me, you will not feel safe afterwards.
