Stiles had grown up hearing the stories of how important it was too stay inside their small town. The dangers of the Big Bad Wolf lurking, waiting to snatch up anyone who dared to wonder outside the village after night fall. He could recite the legends like nobodies business, but that didn’t mean that he wasn’t skeptical of them. In all his years here, he’d never once seen a wolf. Even during the ‘sacrifices’ it was by some miracle that nobody even caught a glance of the monster that plagued their town.
He often got scolded for pushing boundaries, finding himself out exploring later than he probably should. He had always had a difficult time staying in one place too long and with his father being in charge of safety of the town, well it never really ended well when he got caught. Now he was forced to sit in the middle of a town meeting as they deliberated on who would be the next sacrifice offered up. It was always a fight on why this person or that person deserved the 'honor’ of saving their town from another year of attacks.
Stiles’ hadn’t expected it when his name had gotten called out on the list. Maybe he should have, anyone over the age of 18 was fair game, but he had thought his dads rank in this town would be enough to save him from being even thought of. Turns out it wasn’t and not only that outside of his dad, everyone else seemed in favor. Maybe he shouldn’t have been such a trouble maker over the years, maybe he should have followed the rules more strictly because damn it.
The Stilinski’s were out numbered and out voted and he was about to find out that night how true or not the legends have been. “Dad…look…we..we can talk about this right….you don’t…” he started but was cut off by his dad’s shake of his head, “Stiles…this is for everyone’s good. You’re doing a good thing for the people here. It’s an honor..” with that Stiles huffed and rolled his eyes, “Cut the honor bullshit, I’ve heard this speech before just get it over with” he spoke his hurt topping over his anxiety if only for that second. The moment he was shackled to the beam outside of the city the nerves began to come back in full force.
His heart was racing in his chest, his brown hues searching the quickly darkening forest surrounding him. “Shit..shit shit..” he muttered tugging at the steel shackles, maybe if he could twist just the right way he could slide himself free.
There were many stories roaming around about what creature the wolf was. A blood hungry monster that was only satisfied by a sacrifice.. yearly, a monster just waiting to attack. But the wolf had been a member of that town years ago. Many years. He had been outcasted when he himself had been in his early twenties. A family of wolves seemed to be worse than a family of witches, though the Hales never once harmed anyone. Still, the families resident was burned down and the wolf that survived.. was sent away. He was a vengeful man, killing his family wasn’t what anyone wold appreciate and so, when no one expected it, the wolf would come and attack, taking those that had acted like friends only to sell them out. He had been a monster, but only because those people made one out of him. And now, like all those years, there was a sacrifice waiting for the bad bad wolf, to ease his mind, to stop his hate, for all the ridiculous reasons the town came up with. Some of the sacrifices, Peter had really killed, out of spite, to play along with their stupid games. others he sent off, telling them to never return, for their own sake.. and tonight? he wasn’t exactly sure about the outcome, yet the big, dark grey wolf was slowly moving towards the male. Sitting down in front of the boy, it seemed as he was waiting patiently for the male to stop cursing, eyes glowing red. Peter was naturally a bit playful and he always waited what the sacrifice actually had to offer before he decided if he was going to kill it or let it live.
