Alpha Shoto falling for Omega fem. however they take suppressants and he thinks she’s a beta. All while Endeavor is trying to get Todoroki with an omega (who is actually the reader) and he refuses until he realizes they are the same person?
Shoto had never given much thought to the idea of romance before. Naturally, he assumed one day, in the far-off future, he would find a wife and possibly have a few children as well.
He hadn’t really taken into consideration how he would find his potential wife.
“You really need to find yourself a proper wife,” his father had told him soon after graduation, “I have a young woman that I think would suit you.” Enji hadn’t pushed the topic as much as Shoto had expected, though the consent badgering was beginning to wear on his nerves.
“I can find a wife on my own.” and he was certain he could, but being a Hero took up most of his time, and socializing outside of the office was rare. Parties and gatherings just weren’t his style.
“Shoto, you really should consider meeting with her.” Enji continued to press the issue, “She’s a good match for you.”
Weeks turned into months, and Shoto was starting to avoid the topic purely because it was being hammered into him so often. What if he decided he didn’t want a wife? An Alpha didn’t need an Omega. He could be perfectly happy on his own, plenty of people were.
All smiles, giggles, and the cutest damn thing Shoto had ever seen. The new edition to his office was a freshly recruited sidekick. Pretty, witty, and all too eager to prove herself, Shoto knew he was in trouble the second he saw her.
“Nice to meet you! I hope we have a chance to work together soon!” she offers her hand, and Shoto takes it dumbly. It feels so small against his palm, soft and warm.
“Of course.” he can’t find the words he wishes to say, staring just a little too long as she walks away to continue introducing herself to the office.
Over the next few months, he learns that she was transferred from overseas. Had a love for salty snacks, the color yellow, and musical theater. A beta with the heart of a lion, ready to fight for anyone in need.
Shoto knew he was totally, fully, and helplessly in love.
Though they talk often, never once is he able to bring himself to ask her out. Always distracted by her laugh, too caught up in the moment with her to think about what they should do later.
“Shoto, there’s someone here I want you to meet.” coming home had become a routine of pestering from Enji. Asking who, if anyone, had caught his eye. When Shoto would finally cave and allow himself to be introduced to this mystery Omega his father was so eager to push onto him.
“I really don’t feel up to meeting with anyone tonight.” Shoto tries to skirt past the topic, wedging himself between the wall and his father before slipping into the kitchen for a quick bite to eat.
He isn’t expecting to find a familiar face at the dining room table, conversing happily with Fuyumi.
She looks up, eyes meeting with his, mouth falling open as she lets out a surprised gasp.
“Shoto?” her lips begin to curl into a smile, eyes glimmering brightly, “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it’s you!”
“You two know each other?” Fuyumi glances between her brother and their guest.
“Yeah...we work together.” Shoto isn’t sure if it’s his quirk or a blush that was making his cheeks painfully hot.
“What a lovely surprise...There’s no one else I’d be more thrilled to meet with.” she grins, wiggling excitedly in her seat.
“I didn’t know you were an Omega?” the scoff from Fuyumi tells Shoto it wasn’t the most appropriate question to ask, but the shock of the moment won over social niceties.
“Most people don’t. I take suppressants for work since it’s just easier to present as a Beta to the public.” of course it makes sense, very few heroes presented themselves as Omegas to the public, though Shoto had never thought much more on the topic.
“Why don’t you have a seat? I’ll leave you two alone.” Fuyumi excuses herself, giving her little brother a pat on the shoulder before exiting the kitchen. Shoto takes a seat across from the Omega, still trying to find something to say.
“I hope you aren’t disappointed,” she says, “You always seem to avoid me at work.”
“I’m not avoiding you,” he blurts out, “I just didn’t know what to say.” she giggles into her hand.
“That’s adorable. If you don’t mind, maybe I can say enough for the both of us?” she slides a mug of tea over to him, and Shoto nods his head.
