do you have any art/drawing tips that you're willing to share? it could be about literally anything, like how you choose colors, what you'd suggest new artists try to practice most, or what your favorite art program is. (i'm asking because your art is amazing and i love all of it btw)

fav art program is krita! i learned a good color picking technique from angel ganev on youtube, he also has nice art guides on youtube shorts. i always tell new artists to start drawing circles and straight lines, because once you can draw consistent, quick, decent circles and fast, straight, confident strokes then you can draw 3d shapes like cubes and cylinders easier, and everything is made of 3d shapes if you break them down into their basic forms! and thank you so much!!

i still haven't fleshed out their lore yet but my current reason is they wanted to separate themselves from being associated with asriel growing into their own person!! so they changed the spelling while still keeping the pronunciation relatively the same

okay yeah but i was moreso just talking about the left one being one of my designs of ralsei and i didn't mean to say i think ralsei in canon is digitigrade 😅 this is just a difference post because i want people to know my lore ralsei and ralzay are different and not interchangeable

How and when did you start kinning Ralsei?

the day chapters 3 and 4 released i played the new chapters for 17 hours straight and after everything i realized hey. this character is literally me. uh oh

I'm not sure I can word this in a way that's as helpful as I want it to be; but I felt the need to say something. One of the biggest themes that has become more and more relevant as deltarune has progressed, is changing stories. Making them your own. Altering them, picking up the pen and changing the script. Ralsei might be transfem. They might be agender. And they might be cis. And, they might be something else. But; regardless of what they end up being; I think it's ok to write, or draw, or kin, or whatever, them as you see them, as you want them to be. Some people might give you flak over it, but then, this is tumblr/the internet at large. Like pancakes hates waffles, you know the drill. At the end of the day, you should do what will make you happy, and don't worry about anything else.

What do you mean by taking Ralsei away?

a lot of people theorize that based on some in game hints and themes of going against the prophecy, ralsei is going through a transfem arc, which means ralsei could become canonically transfem representation. and because i headcanon ralsei as agender since i'm agender (and, uh, afab) and so many people see ralsei as transfem and it could very likely become canon, i feel like i'm forcefully inserting myself where i don't belong and taking away the transfem representation by seeing ralsei as something else, especially considering how many people follow daily ralsei and i don't want to make anyone uncomfortable, even if it meant feeling slightly dysphoric over people using she/her for ralsei in the tags of my ralsei art posts. of course i know people mean well and i never specified in my posts that i want people to not use she/her for ralsei plus ralsei isn't my character to begin with, that's why i never complained and am still not actually complaining here, but you know... still get caught in the crossfire for closely identifying as a character and then that character being referred to with pronouns i'm not comfortable with on my posts. i don't mind seeing others' transfem ralsei art/headcanons/readings, they fit with the direction ralsei's character is going and it's awesome to see many people get comfort from ralsei being transfem! it's just, hard to excitedly get behind when the dysphoria kicks in haha! i still support the headcanon, i just prefer to see ralsei as agender for my own comfort. i also don't mind people using she/her for ralsei when ralsei is explicitly said to be transfem in the context of the conversation. it just makes me feel dysphoric when for example i post ralsei art referring to ralsei with "he" and then some people in the tags say "she needs to get on estrogen" or "i love her so much". again like i know these people mean well and i never stated i didn't want people to use she/her for ralsei in those posts but it feels like a damned if you do damned if you don't situation where if i try to specify that my version of ralsei uses he/him people will think i'm transphobic, but not specifying my boundaries makes me feel bad, and in typical ralsei kinnie fashion i'd rather shrivel up into a husk than make other people upset even if it's at my expense.

i'm trying to stop thinking this way (thank you lots to patchwork crow) by not being so harsh on myself because ralsei means different things to lots of different people and there's nothing wrong with seeing him differently considering there's nothing explicitly confirmed about ralsei's gender and we haven't reached the end of the game yet, but it's something i've struggled with since the new chapters came out and i've never said anything about it until now because it felt like i didn't have the right to feel upset. i'd like to clarify again that i'm not at all upset at anyone or wish to invalidate the transfem headcanon, just really upset at myself for feeling this way, wanting to hide it for the sake of not sounding like an asshole, and that's another reason why i never said anything to anyone not even my partner until now. but yeah, i'm trying to deal with this in a more healthy manner. maybe i'll make another ralsei design that's even more personal to me, that way i can comfortably caption the post with "this ralsei's pronouns are they/them, please respect that!" or something

ok the undertale autism is bothering me too much to let the detail slide we don't !!! actually know if ut gerson trained undyne. we know she looked up to him and that she modeled her idea of what a hero is after him (hammer/spear of justice, and now the ponytail) because he fought in the war, so he must inevitably have been a guard too at some point. we know undyne followed him around to "help him beat up bad guys" as a kid (it's unclear if gerson was retired or not at the time) but that she ended up kicking the mailman's ass most of the time. which gerson thought was hilarious because he's a also a bit of a bastard

but it was ASGORE who trained her for sure. canonically. whether gerson gave her some lessons as well is... unclear. he did watch her grow up and become the captain she is today, but we don't really know how big of a part he played in that happening beyond entertaining her shenanigans as a kid.

ohh i have dementia i forgot about that.... so this means gerson was not talking about undyne when he tells susie "you remind me a bit of someone i used to know" he was talking about dess. going under the assumption that dess/some version of dess is the knight, it's no wonder why gerson was brought back to life in the darkworld based on what ralsei said (darkners patterned after the memories of a loved one only appear in specific darknesses). gerson must have meant so very much to dess, he was probably her teacher at school or a general mentor, someone close, not just an incredible author. god this game
