I decided to take a shot at recording a short cover of Frank Ocean’s Moon River cover after hearing it in a blackish commerical
Guess people are on a Beyonce high after her Coachella performance last night. Calling her the greatest performer of all time, best female performer alive.🤔… overlooking the fact that Janet is still here and she is about to bring more fire later on this year. But there has been major shade and disrespect toward Michael Jackson from the Beyonce fandom. Bottom line: Tired of the comparisons. But let’s be real: Michael Jackson did it first bringing show-stopping, groundbreaking performances to the stage. Who influenced who? Michael, not the other way around. Don’t get it twisted.
People be having an adrenaline rush, making those comments in the moment lol. However, “the greatest of all time” argument is subjective. You gotta keep in mind that a lot of people making those comments are young. Bey is the greatest performer they’ve witnessed in their lifetime no matter how incomparable MJ is for many of this generation and past generations. To old heads of the James Brown era, they’ll tell you (or loudly argue) that he’s the greatest of their lifetime and Mike’s just a derivative of him. I’ve witnessed a whole ass debate on that. Cane tapping and all.
The most annoying part when it comes to Bey and Jay is when people say Bey is the next MJ. No. He was him, and she is her. They’ve carved out two separate lanes for themselves that only merge when discussing who was inspired by who.
As for my Janet, for a little over a decade, she’s been downplayed as a “whisper singer” who can dance, which is wild to me. She’s my greatest of all time even slightly before her brother because I love her catalogue of music more. I’ve always said: People aren’t gonna respect and fully reflect on Janet’s layered craft until she passes away. That’s when she’ll have their attention…
@thechanelmuse Thank You 🙌🏽 for your comment. This generation today believe Michael was just the moonwalk and screaming hee hee. You’re right, she is not the next MJ. There won’t be another like him. Just like there won’t be another Whitney, Prince, Sam Cooke, etc. If so, it will be 100 years from now. The last paragraph about Janet gave me chills, and she is a legend in her own right alongside Michael.
Sometimes the Beyhive represents the worst parts of fan love...I’ll never understand their devotion or anyone’s to any particular thing to the point where they put down others from the past.

Dear Men Writers
Lesser known facts when writing women:
High heeled shoes don’t become flats if you break the heels off.
The posts of earrings aren’t sharp.
Nail polish takes a long time to dry and smudges when wet.
You can’t hold in a period like pee.
Inserting a tampon is not arousing or sexual in any way, ever.
Feel free to add your own.
The first one I thought I saw in a scene from Romancing The Stone. I thought it was cool, but impractical (mind you, I could be thinking the wrong film so you can correct me if I’m wrong on this)
At one point when the announcement that Peter Capaldl was leaving Doctor Who, I decided to make a few Doctor Who posters with various black actors and actresses who have been considered previously or should have been considered. You’ll notice some of these are female-centric and that’s because I suspect before it was even a casting choice that a woman would be in the role.
I honestly felt like Erica Ash deserved an Emmy nomination for best supporting actress in Survivors Remorse
A “what if? poster where Angela Bassett is The Doctor on Doctor Who
This is a “what if” poster for a movie about Donald Trump Jr and Robert Goldstone with Gyllenhaal has Donald Trump Jr. and Robbie Coltrane as Robert Goldstone
A promo I did for a friend of mine because I felt she could be a VJ in the reboot of Total Request Live.
A “what if?” poster for a remake of UPN’s Nowhere Man starring Michael Ealy
One of the few original ideas I decided to put to a poster. This one was for a science fiction film where three scientists find life on another planet and travel to investigate, when they get there they realize that there is an entire civilization that’s been there for years and that they watch over the universe. As the scientists befriend make friends with the aliens, the aliens begin to realize that one of the scientists is actually from their planet...
If you have ever read or hard the audio version of Harlan Ellison’s story, then you will understand why I feel this is a good idea.
A “what if?” poster of Stephen Colbert as The Doctor
This is a “what if” poster for a Hardcastle and McCormick remake starring Ryan Goasling and Jeff Bridges
This is a “what if?” album cover for Shawnna, a rapper formerly of DisturbingThe Peace and Infamous Syndicate and the daughter of blues legend Buddy Guy.
