Managed to pull this blog back from the dead. Too much irl stuff has been happening, but I want to start being a little more active on here again.

-drags myself out of a hole- Life got in the way, as did my other muses, but I am back on this blog now. Watched Aliens today and I got some muse for my hybrid marine again.
You’re either ON MY SIDE, BY MY SIDE, or IN MY WAY
CHOOSE WISELY.
“Guess so,” was his gruff response.
“So what’s your story, if you don’t mind me askin’?” He was genuinely curious about her. Fincher had no doubts that the Company had other experiments that they’d gone through with and he was curious to see what they were.
Hex’s first response was a lopsided shrug, her focus still squarely aimed at her nails. “Probably similar you yours, I’d assume.” She started with a sigh. “They tried to create a weapon. They succeeded, and then they found out they couldn’t control what they had created.” She rolled her bottom lip between her teeth. “It was really helpful for my anger issues when they decided to turn their guns on me.”
"Huh." The marine couldn't help but chuckle darkly. "Sounds like my story, 'cept that I was a volunteer. It actually went well for the first two months then they tried to replicate what they'd done in the tests. Too bad it failed." He paused and looked thoughtful. "Sometimes I regret it, sometimes I don't."
“Yeah, you’d think. I’m the only one left from that little project of theirs. All the others went crazy and the company had no choice but to put ‘em all down or they’d end up being killed.”
“Nah, they don’t know where I am. I’m always one step ahead and they can’t keep up. Ain’t none of those fuckers following me here.” He didn’t seem to care about her threats. If she wanted to kill him later, she was more than welcome to try.
“Crazy comes hand in hand with what we are, it seems.” Came Hex’s reply, picking at her fingernails again.
“Good. As long as the situation stays that way, we won’t have any problems.” Hex continued. She talked as if it didn’t bother her that he didn’t find her particularly threatening, but she would continue to vaguely threaten him because it amused her.
“Guess so,” was his gruff response.

“I have heard of them, even heard a rumor or two of rampant corruption, but I haven’t had any direct interactions just yet. Only visited this particular expanse of space a few times. I have managed to pull some information on some of the places they’re located and what businesses they own. Probably old news to you though. Why do you ask?” Hotephas answers.
——
“I’m askin’ cause they out lookin’ for me for their own stupid reasons. I need to keep myself updated. They ain’t a company to be messed with.”
Dark eyes glared from underneath the metal helmet. “Keep away from ‘em. My sarge just wants somebody to keep an eye on them from a distance and he’s willing to pay whatever in order to get the information from anyone willing to scout for us.”
Hotephas ahs. He blinks and slowly frowns at the explanation. “I know an ‘Information Recovery’ captain that’s running several spy rings. I think a task like that is better passed off to them. To be honest the only reason they keep letting her spy on people is because of the information she nets us.”
“I’ll have to have a talk with her, then. But when it comes to the information, the Sarge might ask for you to be a pipeline. Nobody can know that a small group of USCM soldiers are in direct contact with a ‘spy’.”
Glancing sideways at Hotephas, he took another drag of his cigarette, exhaled the smoke and put the cigarette out by crushing it in what appeared to be his hand - black and chitinous. “Tell anybody else that I talked to you about this and we’re gonna have problems. Got it?”
“It wasn’t as smart as I thought it was,” was the gruff reply. Crushing the cigarette in his hand, he turned to fully look at Hex.
“I’m here cause it’s safe fer now. I got the Company chasin’ me cause I’m one of their precious experiments gone rogue in their eyes.” A sharp, cold, barking laugh suddenly rose from him. “All ‘cause their other experiments failed and they all had to be killed.”
“That all sounds really familiar.” She replied with a simple shrug, leaning one of her shoulders against the wall. “You’d think they would have given up after me.” She continued, reaching into her pocket and pulling out her lighter, randomly clicking it on and off.
“I hope that you lost them before you came here.” She added, voice strangely flat. “Because if you didn’t, I’ll kill them first, and then I’ll kill you.”
"Yeah, you'd think. I'm the only one left from that little project of theirs. All the others went crazy and the company had no choice but to put 'em all down or they'd end up being killed."

“It was voluntary, in my case,” the marine almost chuckled, the dark shadows under his eyes enhancing the brightness of his green eyes. “The rest wasn’t.”
“Do you run a lot?” The question was made to sound like a normal question to any passers-by that might overhear them and he wouldn’t trust a single one of them. Fincher wanted to know if the company constantly chased her like they did with him.
“Well aren’t you a smart one.” She muttered, examining her fingernails for a long moment. She sighed, glancing sideways at the other. “I used to. Not as much now.” She answered.
“I find it easier to just..keep to myself.” She added. “Which brings me to my question. What are you doing here?” She asked, dropping all hints of subtlety.
"It wasn't as smart as I thought it was," was the gruff reply. Crushing the cigarette in his hand, he turned to fully look at Hex.

The corner of his mouth twitched ever so slightly at her comment, but he didn’t show any trace of a smile. Instead, the hands of a Xenomorph rose to put the cigarette back into the marine’s mouth for a moment.
“I know.”
Lowering his now-alien hands, Fincher breathed the smoke out and glanced sideways at Hexus.
“It’s been there a long time.”
Perhaps if Hex had been a normal person, she would have been decidedly freaked out by the other’s sudden mutation of his hands. But she wasn’t a normal person.
So instead her only response was to raise a single eyebrow at his hands, taking one final puff of her cigarette before purposefully putting it out in the palm of her hand. “Bastards don’t know when to quit do they?” She muttered, partly to herself.
"It was voluntary, in my case," the marine almost chuckled, the dark shadows under his eyes enhancing the brightness of his green eyes. "The rest wasn't."

Something clicked in his mind as she settled not far from him and he felt the beginning of a hiss start in the back of his throat. Watching her from the corner of his eye, the marine tapped his cigarette, causing the ashes from the end to fall.
Fincher wouldn’t speak yet - he was fairly certain that she wouldn’t be too pleased if he asked the strange woman about what he’d figured out. So now, as his hands began to slowly change to chitinous black and since he’d figured her out, he waited for her to do the same for him.
And he would wait as long as he needed.
Hex was perceptive to the emotions of others, so the minute the other began to feel tense, she was aware of it. Instead of reacting to his sudden temperament change however, she simply took a long drag of her cigarette. After a long second she sighed, breathing out.
She casually glanced over at the man, taking in his hands as if it was a casual thing she saw often. “You’ve got a little something there.” She said simply, pointing her cigarette at his hands.
The corner of his mouth twitched ever so slightly at her comment, but he didn't show any trace of a smile. Instead, the hands of a Xenomorph rose to put the cigarette back into the marine's mouth for a moment.
