If These Sheets Were The States

Akira couldn’t help the small chuckle which escaped his lips. This was different. He hadn’t expected to live with someone again. And he hadn’t expected Kaito to appreciate his stew that much. Not that it was bad. But most people didn’t seem to enjoy the idea of eating rabbits. Sure, they were cute. But Akira, being part-time wolf, saw them more as prey than anything. Survival was more important in his world.
“I got more if ya want some later. Got more rabbit in the freezer too,” he says as he lightly shakes his head to get a few droplets of water to fall down. He’s almost scared of smelling like a wet dog. But so far no one has ever reacted to his scent badly. He’s got human genes after all. Perhaps he won’t ever smell like a wet dog.
“Yeah…It was enough.” A total lie. But a white one. He doesn’t want Kaito have any guilt. “I’m gonna…Throw in some more wood and get to bed….” He says as he rubs his neck, moving to the large fireplace in the make-shift livingroom combined with bedroom. It hasn’t hit him yet that there’s only one bed.
Kai simply nodded his head at that. He would be fine on the food thing for now though, as much as he liked eating. Taking the moment to approach the other, he was greeted with a few splatters of water as the other shook out his hair. Slowly bringing a hand up to wipe a few of the droplets from his face, he’d shake his head and give a small smile to Akira.
“Why don’t I believe you?” He knew it. Even as short as he tried to keep his shower... he knew it wouldn’t be enough. What else would you expect from some cabin in the woods? He felt bad, but there was no reason to voice that. Seeing as Akira would just tell him it was fine regardless.
“Wait- are you... not going to eat anything?” He questioned, brows furrowed in question. Why would he have made so much if he wasn’t going to eat too? Kai sighed and leaned back against the counter as Akira moved towards the fireplace. They hadn’t even talked about sleeping arrangements...
