wish we could talk about feminism or especially transfeminism without feeling crazy. because its not crazy. but whenever we talk about it we feel like we're putting on our tinfoil hats and ranting on the streets.
we can't even say "i hate men" without having to explain TO OTHER WOMEN that no, we don't hate every individual man on the planet, we hate the class man and the system men made for themselves that dominates the place we live in. in the same way that we have to tell other women that misandry is not a systemic force, and hating what men as a class of people and the patriarchy they made does not a misandrist make
and then WE feel bad because we made others uncomfortable by talking about injustice!
Its absolutely insane how much backsliding the public consciousness has intentionally done over the last couple years alone in regards to feminism. Like, all of these things were basic feminist concepts that most people anywhere left of center understood and accepted as late as 2024. Y'all remember the "would you rather encounter a strange man in the woods or a bear" question? That whole thing happened just two fucking years ago!

I can't believe Asgore's canonically a weeb, it makes for so many easy scenario set-ups

also while we're here lancer is an autistic fat kid who, before susie, everyone hated, and i think thats very very deliberate. lancer is explicitly based on porky from mother, who is himself based on the "unlikeable fat boy with rich but implicitly abusive father" trope that peaked in american movies in the 80s and 90s. idk, i think its just really sweet of toby to look at this trope, a reflection of real children who are for real ostracized and abused, and go "but what if someone liked him and he had the freedom and friends to be a silly little guy"
one smiling day !

so christopher nolan drilled into an active historical site to rig a scene, dumped a bunch of plastic skeletons into the ocean with no plan to fish them out, and ruined an actual Viking ship on loan from sweden and refuses to pay for damages. all for that garbage movie.
Swedish nonprofit alleges cost to repair replica was $6,000 but Universal – which made $264m on film’s opening weekend – has not stumped up
Concerns about prop disposal as filming on new Nolan film comes to a close | www.italianinsider.it
looking for a news outlet to pick up the archeologist drama over this but you can google the practical effects used for the cyclops and find the pictures pretty easily
Despite Morocco’s hopes that its film industry would reap rewards, the blockbuster’s success will be tainted by controversy surrounding film
and it gets even worse
All filming "on location" has a colonialism problem, I just want to point this out. I'm glad finally we're talking about it out loud but this film is not unusual by any means, this is standard practise. There's a reason I say that filmmaking is the new colonization.
"on location" is code for "we don't want to pay industry minimums, follow safety and health regulations, follow the local laws, or use union workers and performers".
This is not to minimise the damage Nolan has done it's just to point out you should not at any point think this film is lone in doing this shit. Wake up to what "on location" means is what I'm saying.
