@talentbloomed;; Mizuki & Tooru.
Her last remark makes him burst into cheerful laughter, and he nods in agreement. “It’s a promise~!”
As he strolls towards their designated lunch spot, Tooru takes in the picturesque scene of Aoba Johsai’s schoolyard. The path he walks along is adorned with pink sakura trees, and he can’t help but smile at the way the pale petals gracefully twirl and float in the air, carried away by the gentle breeze. Without noticing, a few get caught in his hair.
In the distance, he spots Mizuki standing beneath the vibrant red foliage of the Japanese maple and he waves to her. As she bounds over to him, the distinct sound of clicking heels sparks the setter’s curiosity. She definitely didn’t wear those yesterday !
“Hi, Ogawa-chan~” Tooru greets her warmly once she reaches him. “You brought me lunch too ?? That’s so kind, arigatou~~” He already has a packed lunch since he was only expecting the milk bread. But it’s a simple meal, just something he quickly put together to get him through the day, so he’s grateful for extra food. He can save his original lunch for after volleyball practice.
He parts his lips to answer her question but pauses after noticing her expectant expression and smile. With how nicely she’s dressed today, heels along with the cute hair accessory, it would be rude of him not to say something about it.
“It is pretty,” Tooru says with a smile, giving their surroundings a brief glance before his gaze falls on her again. “And you look pretty as well.”
The totally guided compliment served its purpose: Mizuki barely contained a giggle and shook her head as if to dismiss it.
"You're so sweet! Thank you, sempai~! Here, sit with me."
Mizuki returned to her seat on the bench and patted the spot next to her. As soon as Oikawa sat, he would be handed one of the wrapped lunch boxes. Inside was the typical rice lovingly garnished with sesame seeds, teppanyaki salmon, and grilled vegetables. In her research she had read that salmon and asparagus were two foods that could make someone fall in love. She had a feeling it would take more than one lunch date, but... they had the added benefit of being healthy! Also included was a set of chopsticks. They had little cats on them. They were too cute and she couldn't resist.
"...Um, you have flowers in your hair," Mizuki said once she noticed the petals sticking to the top of Oikawa's head. ( It was so pretty! He looked like he should be in a dating game! ) "Is it okay if I get them for you...?"
