...torao?
Luffy usually takes on any job he can find to pay his older brother’s hospital bills. Recently, his best friend, Zoro, was injured during a swordfighting tournament, so Luffy is currently covering his shift at All Blue, a seaside nightclub, working as a security guard at night. During his fifth shift at the club, just as he’s finally getting used to the schedule, he notices the Polar Tang across the street, a 24-hour café with a steady stream of customers.
On his seventh shift, he notices, at exactly 1:00 a.m., a yellow car pulling up in front of the café and a handsome man getting out and entering the café. Shortly after, another man, a redhead wearing a strange hat, leaves the café and gets into the car, driving away. The handsome man never reappears that night.
Looking for something to fill his stomach and recharge his batteries, he decides to visit the café during his eighth shift on a break, asking Bartolomeo to cover for him. Upon entering the café, he finally sees the handsome man again.
The handsome man, Cora according to his name tag, looks as if he’s seen a ghost when he spots Luffy, dropping the glass he was taking off the table. He cuts himself on the shards, and Luffy tries to help, but the man avoids him like the plague, running to the back. Luffy stays behind, confused, and carefully gathers the shards, finding a broom behind the counter and sweeping the floor.
When the handsome man returns a few moments later, just as rushed, he apologizes profusely and is shocked to find that Luffy has cleaned everything up. Luffy receives a box of meatballs and a bottle of mango juice as an apology and reward.
Luffy then returns on the ninth shift, carrying an ointment made by Chopper. Cora thanks him and serves him again, but this time Luffy insists on paying. Luffy also notices that Cora is now wearing black rubber gloves that he didn’t wear before.
Luffy keeps coming back almost every day for the meatballs and, eventually, for Cora.
Before he even realizes it, he finds himself trying (and failing) to flirt with Cora
Things get weird when one night, Luffy finds Polar Tang closed. He finds this strange and decides to return during the day, where he finds a guy in a penguin hat minding the place alongside a woman; the two are directing workers who are cleaning up the place, hauling out debris and broken furniture. He approaches and asks what happened, noting that the place was closed the night before and asking if everything was okay with Cora. The guy in the hat and the girl are shocked to see him but quickly compose themselves and say it was nothing, avoiding the subject of what happened at the café and assuring him that Cora is fine.
When it’s time for his shift that night, the café is open as usual, but this time the redhead from before is the one behind the counter.
He buys his usual drink and tries to ask Cora again, but the redhead just says he was tired and took a few days off to rest. Luffy doesn’t press the issue, realizing that the others probably wouldn’t give him any information—he’s a stranger, after all.
He decides to head back to the nightclub, but as he tries to cross the street, a car coming out of nowhere hits him, and the last thing he sees before everything goes dark is the redhead from the café running desperately toward him.
.
When he wakes up, he’s tied up with his hands cuffed behind his back and suffering from the worst headache of his life, not to mention the way his leg is clearly bent at an unnatural angle and he can’t feel his left arm.
On the other side of what he assumed was a basement, a tall, blond man is sitting in an old chair, smiling at him.
He asks who the man is and what he wants, and the man laughs before introducing himself as Donquixote Doflamingo, a vampire hunter, and announcing that Luffy is his bait to capture Trafalgar Law, the father of all vampires.
Naturally, Luffy just stares at Doflamingo in confusion, as if he were an idiot, and asks, “Who the hell is Torao?” --
funny story about this: I had this idea and wanted to write it (like a whole fanfic), but I'm not good at developing stories, so I started writing this as a guide about what the story would be about, and in the middle I realized, 'oh wait, this is the thing I do to explain ideas on Tumblr,' and here we are, lol. Since its suposed to be a fic, this is not the whole thing and the vampire part its no even the actual twist but I found the situation funny, so I decided to post this part.
