beatrice and lyle morgan were petty criminals fleeing from the law across the united kingdom. they had arthur at a relatively young age ( he was born in wales — spent the first few years of his life there, actually ) and became official united states citizens after immigrating. when arthur was around the age of six, beatrice fell ill to a bad case of pneumonia and eventually died. lyle went on destructive path for the next few years, leaving arthur to basically raise himself.
after being arrested for a multitude of crimes, lyle was sentenced to a sizable amount of years in a maximum security prison. arthur, being underaged at the time with no known blood relatives, was forced into the system. after a few years of going between various foster homes, hosea and bessie became his foster parents from age fourteen to eighteen.
as part of an agreement on him joining the sons of dutch, arthur attended college while doing things for the gang on the side. eventually he would climb up the ranks and become the gang’s road captain. during these years, they pick up john marston. while arthur is mostly present during serious club meetings / happenings, he’s generally preoccupied with college.
he meets mary gillis and they date for several years. however, as arthur falls deeper into a life of crime / danger, they eventually decide to part ways. mary marries another man afterwards.
at the age of twenty-six, arthur starts dating eliza and together they have isaac. they stay together and raise isaac until he’s five years old. while arthur was away on a job in another county, they’re the victims to a “random burglary” and killed for the pocket change and debit card in eliza’s wallet. ever since losing isaac, arthur hasn’t been the same. most people comment on his sad eyes. the truth is, it’s been five years since the burglary and he’s not even close to being over it.
he lives in a relatively clean trailer park at the edge of sandy shores, intentionally far enough away from the clubhouse to separate work from home life. after a big job, he spent the money buying an old trailer and has been slowly renovating it on his own.
he does tattoos on the side for extra money. it’s no news to anyone that arthur has an artistic gift and while he usually keeps it contained in his journals, he’s been known to do tattoos for people in the gang and outside of the gang. the twist is, he gets to pick what he tattoos on you, if you’re getting it for free.
he rides a motorcycle with the gang but he has an old red bronco he got in a police auction. it runs really well in spite of being one of the vehicles used to transport drugs across the border / present in a shootout.
can’t have a dog in his trailer park but he has about eight cats that chill outside his trailer that he feeds regularly.
