Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, this is love
(posting it again because it's the best thing I've ever done)
"Dangerous rhythm [...] It's very subtle, The Continental, because it does what you want it to do. It has a passion, The Continental, an invitation to moonlight and romance. It's quite the fashion, The Continental, because you tell of your love while you dance. Your lips whisper so tenderly. Her eyes answer your song [...] A certain rhythm that you can't control"
I would do crazy things to have all of Gin's films in high quality
I want to watch Hat Check Girl and Campus Sweethearts SO BAD! But I can't find it anywhere! I'm in tears!
The finest looking woman!
Watching Ginger sing "The Continental" (something I never get tired of), I found myself thinking... I don't think there is anyone, or even anything, more romantic than Ginger Rogers herself. Something about her brings me some nostalgia full of butterflies in my stomach. Her face, her look, her voice, her mannerisms, everything about her seems to have been shaped by the goddess Aphrodite, if she wasn't Aphrodite herself...
Guys how have I never seen it before? It's a deleted scene right?
I have to say, I love a character with a questionable personality.
I've been missing, but Ginger never leaves my thoughts, I adore this woman with every cell in my body.
This is so sweet! She was such a baby!
How not to be obsessed with Ginger? The woman acted, danced, sang, painted, sculpted, among many other things, and still had talent left over to write wonderful songs. "I Can't Understand" is the proof of this.
Color photograph of Ginger at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in New York, circa 1950. Her racquet appears to be monogramed with ‘GM’ for Ginger McMath presumably.
How beautiful a woman can be? Ginger's beauty knew no limits!
Ceramics 101 with Ginger and Dinah
From the November 3, 1971 episode of Dinah’s Place.
I wonder if they’re going for a pinch pot or a coil pot? Either way, I want in their class!
My dream is to watch this show.
BBC journalist Cliff Michelmore interviews Ginger Rogers at her Beverly Hills home in 1968. Ginger makes him a chocolate malt and they discuss (among other things) work, success, materialism, Fred Astaire, life in California, and her painting hobby.
Everyone already knows, but I'm obsessed with Ginger Rogers.
“Ginger’s contribution was absolutely indispensable.” – Hermes Pan, in a 1972 interview for The Washington Post, discussing the 10 Astaire-Rogers films “Ginger was the ideal kind of girl to work with.” – Fred Astaire, in a 1975 interview for Grosset & Dunlap
"Indispensable"
"Ideal"
They just said it, not me.
“Everyone on the movie set loves Ginger Rogers. She is never ‘high hat’ or temperamental.” – The Des Moines Sunday Register, 1936
