Tiny thing I wrote based on the M and D fridge magnets lol.
“They’re out of our detergent.” Mac strolls over to the shopping cart and puts in a different one.
Dennis grumbles and starts wheeling away as Mac follows. “At least it’s the same scent. But I hate brand-switching.” He comes to a halt, eyes falling on something unusual in their basket.
He crosses his arms, turning to Mac. “Did you get these?”
He glances down at the fridge magnets. “Yeah. So what? We need to put those pictures up.”
Dennis frowns. “So you got our initials in magnet form.” He cocks his head to the side. “Put them back and go get regular ones. Now.” He reaches in and hands them to him.
Mac mutters something about him being dramatic but walks away.
The truth is, the ‘D’ magnet was light blue—Dennis’s favorite color. But it doesn’t matter because friends don’t have their initials on the refrigerator.
Five minutes later, Mac’s waiting for him at the register. “What took you so long? I’m waiting to pay. And you got—nothing?” He shakes his head and finally pays the annoyed cashier.
Dennis rolls his eyes and scratches his head. “Um—I just remembered something. Go load up the car and I’ll be right there.”
Mac nods and pushes the cart out of the store.
That night, they’re eating cheeseburgers. Not homemade—obviously. Those are always terrible.
“Dude.” Mac twists his neck and points to the fridge. Dennis deliberately took the chair facing towards it.
Mac turns around, a small smile playing on his lips. “You got the magnets.” He is looking at Dennis way too sincerely.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he says, returning to his food.
So what? They were nice decorations.
