Magnus, suddenly utterly unable to control his tongue, blurts out, “Who are you?”

The vampire’s head turns so quickly Magnus is sure the only reason he didn’t just break his neck is because of his status as a vampire. His eyes widen as he takes Magnus in before a smile that’s uncomfortably similar to Camille’s touches his lips. Magnus takes this chance to study him — noting the flawless skin (no doubt a perk of being dead) and the smile which Magnus realises, now that the vampire is closer, is only superficially similar to the one Camille used to offer him.

“Alec,” the vampire says, offering a hand for Magnus to shake.

The room itself was warm and already lit by a steady fire that roared in an ornate hearth.  Magnus’ gaze skimmed over the shelves that lined the walls but his attention was pulled to the fire and a dark bundle there. At first, he thought it was merely a lump of blankets or cushions and it wasn’t until he drew closer that he realized it was someone and not something.  

It was no wounded adventurer or antiquated skeleton, instead the sleeping figure embossed on a thick fur rug seemed hale and timeless in the warm glow of flame. His hair was dark and his features so stunning that Magnus had to first check himself for enchantments and when he found none, wondered at the sight before him.

I'm alive & kicking btw, guess I should finally get around to disclosing that this account originally had 3 authors; me (Saeth), Briallen, and a ghostwriter who never wanted to be named. The ghostwriter died in 2020 and I have yet to process my grief which is why I haven't continued any of the fics. Briallen & I are still friends but they kinda lost interest so y'all are just. Stuck waiting until I can handle dealing with this.

Hey so I feel a bit weird asking this, as I am quite sure you had your reasons for doing it, but is there any possibility of you reopening the armed prophets series? It’s one of my favorite shadowhunter fanfic series😅❤️

No. I plan to, eventually, rewrite the series, and may in that process update the existing works with new text & make them public again (rather than make new works with the rewritten stories), but the stories as-they-were will never be available again.

You're free to check the wayback machine to see if someone saved a snapshot of them, or ask around to see if anyone has downloaded versions saved, but unfortunately I will not be providing any copies of the originals. The only way you'll be able to read them again is if you track down a copy in the ways I've suggested here.

I probably won't ever explain the details of why but its related to multiple personal traumas and I just can't handle the fic in its current iteration. I almost deleted them. I almost just nuked the whole fucking thing so I could stop getting notifs about it, but I recognized that was a disproportionate response. I don't want to lose all those comments when I plan to rewrite it. My solution was to lock it away instead, so that the part that was repeatedly causing me issues (reminders) would stop.

It's by far my most popular fic (tmfar would have overtake it if i had kept posting it, i think, but thats just speculation) and I did this because I want to be able to still share it with others, eventually.

It will not be the same fic. Frankly, the old plot and timeline is incredibly disjointed since I came up with plots on a whim. It will be the same idea, the same characterization, but it will not be the same fic.

I hope that someone has copies to share with those seeking the originals. I am in no way opposed to copies going around, even if I don't want to see that happening since it reminds me of things I'm trying not to think about.
