Performance art: Extra clip
Today was kind of emotional. I had been working on a 36in tall functional waterfall, today was fire day. Unfortunately, my fountain got knocked, and the entire thing came crashing down and broke the piece. But I got a little smash therapy for it. It took a week to make it, and 3 minutes to destroy it.
“White Throwing”
For this project, I really wanted to contrast how working with clay is super messy and dirty, and how wedding dresses are clean and pure. How the two things are always separate, and when you bring them together, it can be super controversial. Anything you wear while throwing on the wheel is guaranteed to get dirty, so as an artist you have to be conscious of what you are wearing. For me, it was really fun to wear something so clean and pure, and just dirty it.
Ring The Bell
Cancer is a very big topic in my family. My grandmother and great grandmother both died from cancer. I got diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome, which makes me extremely susceptible to a dozen different cancers. Everything I do, cancer is always in the back of my mind, wondering if the next time I go to the doctors, they'll tell me I have breast cancer, or ovarian cancer, or even skin cancer. When doing this video, I knew I wanted to highlight those who beat cancer. To show that there are people out there who are so strong, that they beat their own bodies, and can live a full life.

The Loop
This was definitely an interesting project to work on. I've never done anything with Gifs because it wasn't the focus of a lot of my work. I am very much a traditional artist, and love capturing things in the moment. The thought of capturing a couple seconds in a loop seems a little crazy to me. Once I got a hang of making the gifs however, it was quite fun to find these little moments in this 2021 adaptation of Cinderella. Some of them are funny, and some are just cool.

Project One: Disappearing Acts
Throughout my photography career, body image and insecurity have been one of my main focuses. The idea behind this series is the disappearance of self. The fear that as time goes on, you'll just begin to disappear. That who you are as a person, and how you impacted society would just begin to fade into nothingness. I made this series black and white, because I wanted to bring attention to the nothingness and the fear. Taking color out of an image does that. It brings a sense of sadness and fear.
Exercise One: The Drift
This mini-series was taken during a walk around a neighborhood creek. This area was touched mainly by the recent storms that have been plaguing Colorado, but despite all the water, plants and life continue to grow and flourish.
