The speed at which each gear rotates is affected by the amplitude of a different frequency in the song.

GLSL music visualizer.

This visualizer is based on a radial rainbow stripe pattern; the width of the stripes decreases with the amplitude of the music. Finite screen resolution creates star-like artifacts.
