Book review The Day We Disappeared, by Lucy Robinson *Spoiler Alert*
I recently finished “The Day We Disappeared”; by Lucy Robinson. To be honest I really enjoyed this book.
First of all the book starts quite boring for the first 100 pages. After that, the story gets more and more exciting and I was really eager to find out about Annie and Kate’s secrets. From the very beginning on I knew the characters were going to be really special. I even tried to think about the reason Kate had to run away and I wanted to know Annie’s secret. But gosh I was totally wrong about all of my theories. This book was so amazingly unpredictable. I’ve never read anything like this before.
To wrap it all up, I love The Day We Disappeared and it is totally worth reading. I am giving it 5 of 5 stars!
If you're fifteen or older an still sleep with a stuffed animal please reblog this.
My friend is embarrassed and thinks she’s the only one and I said id prove her wrong.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas *Spoiler Alert*
Sup! I just finished The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and I thought, why not write a review about it. So here we are, let’s get this started with. Btw, SPOILER ALERT. I think I won’t be able to do this without a few spoilers, so if you haven’t read this book I don’t advise you to read my review...
First of all, the message of this book is more than clear and it is amazing!! I am obsessed with Starr, I mean how could I not be she loves The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She is one of the most relatable characters that I ever read about. I know exactly how she feels about having a racist friend and thinking that everything they say is right. I also know what it is like to behave one way around your hood and the other with your friends in school. That can be tough sometimes but I admire Starr for that. Seriously, her story is tough and she is tough. That girl saw her two best friends die right in front of her. I really admire her for her strength.
To be honest, I don’t know where to begin with expressing my feelings about this novel. I am still progressing that one-fifteen didn’t get what he deserved but I think I have to accept that this is the legal system in way too many countries. A legal system dominated by racism and hate. Actually, that is something that can never be accepted...
In conclusion, The Hate U Give is a great book with an even greater message. I’d rate it with 4/5 stars.

shout out to girls with scoliosis
shout out to girls with scoliosis who’s backs constantly hurt no matter how they sit, stay or lay
shout out to girls with scoliosis who’ve had to wear backbraces that make them feel awkward and out of place. and are also really hot sweaty and uncomfortable
shout out to girls scoliosis who have been called deformed, made fun of for their posture, been called a hunchback etc
shout out to girls with scoliosis who feel super self conscious wearing anything that shows their back because of their scars and/or the curve of their spine
shout out to girls with scoliosis who sometimes exert themselves a little more physically than they should because they’re scared to ask for help since society conditions us to think asking for help makes us weak.
WE’RE STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL AND AWESOME. WE NEED TO REMEMBER THAT EVEN THOUGH OTHERS DON’T WANT US TO BELIEVE IT
Lovely Spine
Pain like needles endlessly taunting me,
Pain like a wound bursting alive,
Pain like a punch from the inside,
Pain like dripping blood crying for help.
My body’s aching, how can I escape this?
Oh lovely spine, why so crooked?
You’re not supposed to be this way
Look! Everybody’s cold gazes drop on you.
Their faces amused, confused.
Solitude has become your new best friend.
Caged and locked inside,
I know you long to be free.
But freedom has its consequence
I come home with agony.
They say it’s no big deal, you’re going to be free
But if they were in my position, how hard it is to smile!
You are born imperfect.
You are born to hurt people and make them cry.
You are born to be caged, stretched, opened and tortured.
No one can get rid of you.
Nobody wants you
No, not even me.
Oh, but I can’t live without you.
You’re a part of me, and I a part of you.
So take me, I will remain.
I won’t give up on you.
In the end, we’ll be touched by the Mighty Hand
and come out beautiful and perfect.
Just hang in there, we’ll get through this together.

And you didn’t mean to hurt me, but you did.”

Friend: Can't you just sit straight?
Me: How could I sit straight if my spine isn't.
Friend: *silence*
Don’t tell me I talk about my illness too much. Every movement. Every breath. Is a reminder that I’m not ok. That I may never succeed. That I can’t do things that normal people do. That everyday is a struggle. Never ever tell me I talk about it too much.
