#prompt: write a poem using an animal from myths/legends as a metaphor for some aspect of a modern person’s life + include a spoken phrase#today is my partner's bday + he is v. associated with phoenixes for me. so this is a little love poem in honour of another year surviving#i've had a tough time writing poetry this month. it doesn't feel nearly as natural as it's been in the past.#but i'll keep flexing the muscle til i write something i like again! ig.
