I’m not overly sensitive anymore as it’s become hard to let myself feel, my wall is so high I don’t let others in because I cannot trust. I also do not trust myself; so, I don’t want to be both the joker of fools and the queen of heartache. Fool or be fooled, kill or be killed. Why can’t I just open up my heart and let my light shine through and be completely and utterly myself? Will anyone let me have that without judgement or ridicule? Without using my good nature for personal gain? To care about my happiness and not take advantage of my heart? I never knew caring for others would cause such anguish. –Now, I may come off as pretentious and cold because of my diminished self-esteem accumulated through abuse. I can complain and blame others for these tedious traits but I won’t. Please the people, please the people; which lead to being broken down into utter nothingness. I feel everything and nothing and that is both my gift and my burden. Happiness will be found within the darkness. They just have to learn to get along.
