Since this episode is gonna be animated VERY soon, I wanted to take a moment to really speak about the severity of this scene.
Imagine being in Nene's shoes; you just got teleported to no. 6's boundary trying to find your best friend who could probably be dead or just disappeared, but she thankfully shows up and gives you the false impression that she knows the way to freedom, when she in fact, actually doesn't lead you there at all and tries to get rid of you
AND THENN, (skipping over meeting Sumire, sorry queen 🥀) you're suddenly being led to your DEATH, more specifically the death of a Kaanagi, because you trusted another person that kind of let you down AGAIN. Not to mention, your lifespan is already on the line so this could probably be the end
Being, quite literally, on the verge of death itself, you're saved by the person you've come to love (HANANANENENENSJJSJEJS) and are prevented from being sacrificed out of the blue.
You think everything can go uphill from there, since you were just saved and Sumire can go with you guys now, yay! Everything is gonna be okay, right? You TOTALLY didn't just almost die, got drugged (forcefully, against your will, because you're supposed to die 😀), and experience even more traumatic events!
now, you're back in the school you're familiar with, at last! You go find Hanako and are optimistic about finding your friend again, despite what she did, but...what's going on now?
He is literally beginning to fade away from your grasp, the one you've grown a bond with and become friends with, is physically disappearing right before your eyes, and you can do nothing but watch.
GUYS, HANAKO, HER CLOSE FRIEND AND THE ONE WHO SHE'S DEVELOPED FEELINGS FOR, STARTED TO DISAPPEAR RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. If that ain't downright scary and traumatizing, idk what is.
She knew he was a supernatural, leader of the school mysteries for crying outloud, but she saw past that (for the most part) and managed to realize he was just a boy underneath it all, and he had a past and was human too.
He told her he would be removed from her and there was nothing she could do, since the wish SHE wanted was fulfilled; her best friend was sacrificed in her stead.
Since when was that apart of the plan? (Speaking from nene's perspective) since when did her best friend have to deal with any of this? Why did she have to die? What's going on?! Why are you going away?
The way Hanako said it in that chapter made it sound SO permanent, like there was no going back for him as a supernatural, that he wouldn't EVER see nene again. And to make it worse, it's as though it's her fault in a way, since he gave Aoi up instead of her. (IT'S NOT HER FAULT, JUST SAYING WHAT I ASSUME SHE WAS THINKING) and that consequently brought about the severance, since a girl ended up "dying" either way. (We know she didn't though)
He's cracking just by a simple touch, as if he's glass, and she can't even hug him properly. It's all happening so fast, she's having trouble even processing what is going on, and she's lost. She has no clue what to do, she can't stop this. It's impossible.
not only that, but hanako tried to make her FORGET she ever MET him?? It's just so depressing. He was so ready to let her live her life like nothing happened between them, even if he was hiding what he really felt even in that moment.
although, right before he completely DISAPPEARED from the hug she physically couldn't return, he did say he wanted to try living with her too.
I can't even put it into words anymore
