I would like to hand in my slip of resignation. I feel that I am unable to adequately RP Siebold for this group and may strike off as an indie. Though as it is looking I probably will leave this account vacant until my muse for Siebold returns. I am very sorry that I have to leave, but until I get this mind frame back for Siebold, I wish to allow someone else the chance to take my stead. Hi! I really wanted to apply as an NPC, but I was looking at the other asks and got a little bit confused when you mentioned having pokemon like npc's in games usually have. Did you mean not having legendaries (obvs) or did you mean not having a diverse/full six pokemon team? & Also about shiny pokemon, if the character had a back story where the pokemon being shiny was central to the plot, would it still be unacceptable?

I'll give you an example of what I mean by choosing Pokemon based on an NPC trainer's class. I'll use the Super Nerd in this case. If you go the Pokemon List section and expand all of the lists that show the teams of Super Nerd characters it'll show you the pokemon you can choose from. Pokemon that are associated with the Super Nerd class are the ones you see there.

Does that mean you are limited to only those pokemon? No! You can have a full six-pokemon team (or more, with pokemon in their PC or non-combat pet pokemon). At that point, you must think about where your character is from and what pokemon they had available to them.

Going back to the Super Nerd example. Let's say I wanted to make him from Sinnoh. In that case, I may add pokemon from the Sinnoh Pokedex to his team to fill it out and diversify his team. Did he recently move to Kalos? Then perhaps he has one or two pokemon from there as well.

The reason we want to avoid shiny pokemon is because we plan to offer the chance of getting a shiny pokemon as a prize for RP events. Exceptions to these rules would be with canon characters (like manga Silver's Red Gyarados, or N having Reshiram/Zekrom). An NPC cannot have a legendary, and a canon character cannot have a legendary unless they canonly have one.

Like you suggested, if there is suitable backstory then an NPC could be cleared to have a shiny pokemon on their team. That would have to be considered on a case-by-case basis, and we'll do our best to work out something.
