synopsis:   a dream: two suns, one edged in black, the other in gold. as if the contending of set has been reborn, souls begin to vanish.

in a world where people’s faith in the gods disappears slowly, and where mortals managed to take control, five young adults peer into the forbidden path for an object— which unravels a complicated web of mystery and a desire for something that is beyond their reach. however their selfishness would not only bring them to ruin, but all of khasom, too, for this was the ancient being’s plan all along. his very twisted and cruel plan.

#THEWRITEBLRHIVE — STORY DRAFTERS IS LOOKING FOR MORE WRITERS!

Hi! Hello! #TWH Drafters is returning again for another bout of strenuous writer-scouting. Please apply if you want to join our sprint-oriented little sub server for writers who are dead-serious about drafting.

In case you missed out the last time this came around, #TWH — STORY DRAFTERS or DRAFTERS is a writing server designed to function a little like a game. You go in, break down your goals for the year and lay them out into milestones, then get rewarded when you knock 'em over. We keep track of your milestones throughout the year. Every now and then we also do events and stuff - like camp nano and weekly competitions. There's also a new addition that whoever wants to socialize can socialize via writing discussions (and those only, like qotw etc.) but we're not mainly about that.

Over the course of the last few months, I've decided to keep the server small for productivity-reasons so only 6 writing-crazed applicants will be approved to join! And that's it. Until people peace-out because I've made them sick of writing or quit because of IRL reasons, the server will no longer open.

( But don't worry!! If you don't make this round, there's a chance I'll open a second group in the future!! )

Please use this google form to apply. I will be choosing members mostly through a first come, first serve basis. But it’s important to note that the more serious I know you are, the more you’ll likely be let in. Applications close on June 29.

SYNOPSIS

Many might think Fang Hesen is on a mission of vengeance, but in reality, she is on a mission of truth and equality. Magic has been dying, and sorcerers have turned into a commodity, prized and sold to serve the country, stripped of their human rights. Soldiers sweep through the land, searching for the nearly nonexistent population of hiding sorcerers, and among them, was Hesen’s little sister. Torn apart by her grief of failing to protect her sister, Hesen turns her eyes not on the cruelty of the soldiers, but the corruption of the use of magic, and vows to destroy magic at its source, to level the playing field for everyone.

But first, she needs to find a sorcerer who is willing to help her. By chance, Hesen stumbles upon Yang Enzhe, a boy who uses his magic to help his village survive harsh winters and meager harvests. When soldiers discover his magic and move to arrest him, Hesen steps in, saving his life and his freedom, and promptly ties him to her through that debt. Enzhe is as determined as Hesen to save sorcerers from enslavement, and strives for the same equality that she does, but not in the same way. He’s willing to help her on her quest, but at what cost?

Because Enzhe’s role in Hesen’s quest is to summon the gods—so she can kill them.

CHARACTERS

FANG HESEN – After her sister’s death, Hesen vowed to erase magic from the world, thinking that this would be the best way to prevent sorcerers from being hunted and used without their consent. Driven by the grief she won’t acknowledge, Hesen will let nothing deter her from her goal, not even good hearted sorcerers.

YANG ENZHE – A sorcerer hiding to avoid the notice of the emperor’s soldiers, Enzhe secretly believes he was gifted magic to be a martyr for some greater cause. He is kindhearted, perhaps overly so, and isn’t quite sure if he’s willing to pledge himself to Hesen’s cause.

LU FAYIN – Fayin is Hesen’s childhood friend and a trained mercenary, and she agrees to help Hesen after witnessing Helin’s death and her friend’s grief. She wishes first and foremost to help Hesen find a way to work through her grief, even if that means being complicit to her determination to destroy magic.

LIN YUEWEN – Fayin’s mercenary friend and more. Yuewen is cynical by nature, dry and bitter whereas Fayin may be cheerful and optimistic. She sees herself in Hesen’s desperate flight away from her sister’s death, and in Enzhe’s need for survival, and finds herself torn between the two forces.

ISLAND OF THE SUN: ALPHA READING.

peter pan meets the little mermaid in an east asian inspired ya fantasy.

sixteen year old wenyu hears the voices of the dead. she pretends she doesn’t until the night of the mid-autumn festival, when she finds herself abandoned on the island where her disgraced ancestors lost the peaches of immortality. in order to return home, she must break the blood curse her elder sister crafted in an unknown revenge.

wenyu is chased by a bloodthirsty mermaid, an impossible beast, and peter pan as she scrambles to find the monster whose death will end the curse. but on this island, everyone is a monster. nobody is who they say they are, and each of them has a reason to use wenyu to their gain. still, she cannot do it alone. her most likely ally is antigone, the mermaid with a love for both the land and peter, but even antigone cannot be trusted. one thing wenyu knows for certain: she cannot succumb to the voices of the dead, or she will lose more than just her life.

before long, the path of her sister’s revenge becomes clear. kill peter pan. find the peaches of immortality before he does. don’t fall in love. with nothing but a dagger and the company of a vengeful soul, wenyu must find a way off the island before the curse kills her.

THE SEVEN HOUSES OF KEMET.

there are seven houses located in kemet. blessed by the goddess of truth and justice, ma’at gifted each house a certain principle. each house had to know not only their own, but every other house’s too. these principles were both to be studied and to be lived in such a way that they guided all actions and relationships.

from over 30 centuries, the houses were first created. the seven are known all over the world. due to its importance and high knowledge, however, these houses are only ever known by their names to ensure their communities’ safety. for the people of kemet, though, all the history and information is located in the book of gates, where they are translated from ancient kemetian by farah el-hady and malek omar in the early year of 1640 before the stars of nut.

— synopsis

Sporadically and endlessly, Nyame’s Star has rained stardust into the veins of the worthiest of champions upon their birth. These champions are known as ajabu, star-touched individuals whose eyes glow vibrant jewel tones whenever they practice their magic. Ajabu have been feared and celebrated for centuries, their rarity and magical feats adorning kingdom lore since the beginning of time. The age of ajabu is coming to an end in a realm where magic weakens as Nyame’s Star grows dimmer.

Sanaa Madaki is no hero, nor a star-touched legend. There is wealth and opulence to her name as an esteemed heir to one of Sekotanga’s Founder Houses. A recluse aristocrat by day, and wielder of secrets and blackmail by night, Sanaa has dedicated her life to protecting the strongest ajabu the kingdom has ever seen: two kid orphans. Sanaa protects her family with undying loyalty. That is, until questions arise when a young woman claiming to be the presumed dead princess requests the help of two famous ajabu to overthrow the queen.

House Madaki has not been represented at the royal court in nearly forty years. With the help of her childhood friends, Sanaa ties together an elaborate plan to overthrow the crown from inside the palace. Complications arise as Nyame’s Star loses its luster and the royal astrologist campaigns a dark and dangerous method to weaponize the remaining magic present on the Land. AYDA — Thieves and the horribly desperate. Do you not repeat yourself, dear brother? The Children of the Bone, then. It wouldn’t be the first time.

LORYHN — No, it wouldn’t be. And I must think to what Naran told me.
