Ama found her friend surrounded by....puppies! Maschiff puppies! All the barking, some not as much as other, some kept their distance, others instantly ran up upon the boy to investigate. They were all cute in their own little way right? But they looked far too young to be alone.
Blake looked back with a concerned look on his face as his pants were bit at and tugged on by the puppy Dark-Types!
"Erm...I don't see any sign of any parents. All these little ones might be on their own...?"
His head turned to check out the area around them, a concerned look growing on his face.
Did something happen? He wouldn't think mother dog Pokemon would wander too far or at all without their puppies...?
This was a surprise. Ama watched as the puppies nipped at her friend's pants, yipping and jumping around enthusiastically. At least they didn't look injured, but...
The little alcove that seemed to be their den was too tiny for any parent to be hidden within. Whipping her head side to side, she quickly scanned the general area with no sign of a mabostiff mother anywhere around. Unfortunately, the pups were a bit too small to articulate what may have occured there, or where their mom was. This was one instance where she would be ok talking with them, but... they were barely a few weeks old. Not only that, but the chances the mother left to go hunt for them were slim to none- these pups were probably still reliant on her milk. Only a couple had fresh teeth beginning to pop through their gums, sparing Blake's pants from any holes as they nipped at him.
"I have a weird feeling about this..." she murmured, kneeling down and holding her hand out to the couple shy pups in the back. "Oide, oide, daijoubu-yo, little babies," she cooed softly, rubbing her fingers together in a rare moment of gentleness the other may have never seen from her before.
Only one pup was brave enough to slowly approach, a little purple thing, cautiously sniffing at her outstretched hand. "See? All safe," she re-assured, then looked up at Blake with concern. "I don't think the mom would have left them. They should still be nursing..."
The little maschiff, done sniffing, determined that he did indeed find the girl to be a friend, and put his tiny paw up on to her leg, attempting to crawl into her lap. From a little bit away, she heard her litten meowing loudly, so she scooped the tiny little puppy into her hand before going to investigate.
"Claw marks in the dirt... It looks like there was a scuffle over here!" she called to Blake, kneeling down to look closer at all the marks. A battle? What the hell happened here?
