Broken melody || Sehun X Amber
He blinked at the female in surprise, not really expecting anyone to show up from the shadows and reveal themselves, he knew he probably wouldnât. With a small smile he held out his hand before quickly withdrawing it, his eyes wide at the sudden realization.
Boy had he changed. A few years back heâd had fled the spot the moment he heard a peep and here he is almost shaking hands, touching, a stranger.
Settling for a bow and a salute, he reached for his notebook quickly and began writing, "So, why were you here so late? You could have attracted yourself dangerous people. Are you stupid?â
He didnât mean to be rude, not really. He just didnât know better. Itâs definitely been a while since his last normal human communicationâ- besides Yifan.
Amber bowed back and grinned. Boy this kid's polite... She watched him as he scribbled something down in his notepad. Once the notepad was facing her, she snorted through her nose. "Well, I wouldn't say I'm stupid... I just happen to believe I'm a good judge of character. If I thought you were dangerous and out to maim anything that came near I would not have come out of my hiding place." Amber chuckled lightly. "And, besides, if you were trying to trick me or something you would've killed me already." She shrugged.
Blackout // Amber & Seungho
Seungho frowned a little at the awkward air between the two. âI know itâs not much, but youâre welcome to make yourself at home and stay here, if you need to. I imagine it would be a bit warmer than your place,â he grimaced. âI mean, your place is nice, I didnât mean-â he cut off with a frustrated ruffle of his hair.Â
Whatever happened to being able to hold up a conversation without offending someoneâŠ? I used to be so good at conversing. Seungho sighed, and turned to Amber, âIâll take your bag,â he said sheepishly, and tugged at it on her back, âDid you want something to eat or drink? Iâm sure I have food somewhere here.âÂ
"Something to eat or drink would be nice, thank you." Amber smiled politely. She looked around the apartment again. "This is a nice place..." She mumbled under her breath. Amber slowly walked towards an old couch that was pushed against the wall and sat down. "Is this where...?" She asked quietly. Amber bit her lip as she imagined Seungho fighting the government soldiers in this very place, and she could practically see the fight that had happened.Â
The Rival || Joonyoung and Amber ||
As she introduced herself as Amber, he grinned. âNice to meet you, Amber~â he said. He was always chill. It was a specialty of his, as a rocker. He blew puffs of smoke out. âIâm a former rocker. The day that the world ended, I was supposed to perform at a club with a friend of mine. He went missing,â he said, nodding to himself.
"What about you? Where were you before the world ended?" the tracker asked, making casual conversation. He occasionally tuned into his power, looking around very wary of his surroundings. Ah, so far all was calm and that was good. At least, he wasnât dying today.
"I was visiting a friend here. We were just hanging out watching a music program and then the world ended. I haven't seen my friend or their family since then." She grimaced. Amber blew out a sigh and shrugged her shoulders. "Well, what can you do? I mean, it's not like we could have stopped it."Â
"You said you were a rocker right? I might have heard some of your music..."
(yoooo who wants to plot? :D)
The Rival || Joonyoung and Amber ||
The tracker watched as she panicked slightly and apologized repeatedly. Well, that was something he hadnât noticed in this day and age. As she started exclaiming that she could have killed him, Joonyoung nodded. âOf course, you totally have killed me. That would have not been fun,â he said, flopping down on the ground and pulling his bag off his back. âDo you have a light?â he asked, pulling out a cigarette pack from his bag and swinging the bag on his back again.
As he waited for her to answer, he stretched. âActually, the gun was a bit of shocker.â he said, his panda eyes widening just ever so slightly. He shifted a bit. âSwell, so since weâre past all the awkwardness of you pulling a gun to my head, Iâm Joonyoung. Jung Joonyoung,â he said, smiling. âVery nice to meet you, MissâŠ?â he phrased the last part as a question.
He ruffled around in his jacket as he waited for her response and found his lighter. âOh I thought I lost you,â he said, lighting up his cigarette. âYou donât mind if I smoke?â he asked, already blowing out a puff of smoke.
Amber stared at him with wide eyes, trying to process what just happened. At least he's not trying to kill me. She plopped down on the floor next to him and shook her head. "Sorry, the lighter I had died on me." She tilted her head and looked at him. With a grin she introduced herself. "I'm Amber, Amber Liu. Nice to meet you Joonyoung."
Amber watched him ruffle through his jacket and smiled. He's chill. Chill people are hard to find nowadays. "Nah, I don't mind." She responded. Amber blew at the puff of smoke he had just released and watched it get pushed by her breath. She sat there and played with her feet as she tried to think of something to talk about. Amber ran her hands through her hair again and leaned back on her elbows.
Blackout // Amber & Seungho
Seungho shrugged, âNah, letâs go. Itâs better than having some random person take over it anyways. Itâs not like the governmentâs going to grab me from there again.âÂ
He took a quick glance around at their surroundings before setting off, much slower this time, just at a walk. Within 10 minutes, they were at the bottom of the building to his apartment. Seungho led the way up, and a few flights of stairs later, they had arrived at his front door.
Seungho didnât remember how the scientists had left his flat; he just hoped it wasnât too bad. He shouldered open the door, and held it open for her to enter, âLadies first,â he said with a smile.Â
Amber laughed as she walked in. "Always the gentleman, I see." She stepped into the apartment and looked around. Amber waited for Seungho to walk in so he could lead the way. It wasn't that she meant to be awkward, it's just that this was how she was whenever she went to any friends house. Uaaaaaaagh I don't know what to dooooo.Â
Instead of commenting on the place, she waited for Seungho to say something first. I really don't know what to doooo.
Unexpected Meeting || Amber & Taekwoon
Taekwoon grimaced as he started to skin the mountain lion. This would take forever.Â
He turned his head at her voice, and allowed a small smile on his face. âI would bow, but as it is, Iâm already on my knees,â his smile grew wider as he continued to skin the animal. âFuel or not, weâre going to need wood; Iâm not about to set the whole field on fire,â he teased, âBut it makes building a fire a lot easier, thanks.âÂ
Taekwoon scraped at the pelt, grimacing as fur came off on his hands. At least this way, the blood under his nails would be explainable.Â
Amber pouted jokingly and slouched. "I guess kneeling will do." Oh yeah. The wood. She stood up straight and laughed. "Woops. Guess I forgot you need to set something on fire in order to have a fire." She chuckled. Amber gave Taekwoon a salute. "On it, boss!"Â
She set off towards the woods silently, stopping only when she found wood she thought would be suitable for the fire. After about ten minutes, she had a good sized pile gathered in her arms and decided it would be best to head back to where Taekwoon was. If something decided to attack her, she wouldn't be able to grab a weapon with all this wood in her arms. Amber quietly bobbed her head along to some music she was singing in her head when she heard a growl. Shit. There was no denying that the animal was following her, so she kept her shoulders squared and only picked up her pace a little bit. If she ran she knew it would chase after her and it definitely would catch her.Â
Luckily, she could see the camp just through these trees in front of her. With a silent cheer she sped up just a little more and made her way to Taekwoon. Amber dropped the wood down quietly and sat nest to him. "Hey, Taekwoon? I'm pretty sure something was going to try to eat me. So, let's not go into the woods for the rest of the day, please?" Amber laughed anxiously.
Golden Apples | Open
Yixing nodded as he pulled himself into a standing position. It still stung when he took a breath but he could feel his body knitting itself back together. âYeah Iâm okay. And Iâm still really sorry about that. Itâs kinda embarrassing, the entire situation really.â He huffed out a sigh before giving all of the food back over to her except for a single red apple. âThis should be okay enough for me for now. And Iâll be alright after everything. Super healing and all that jazz.â He patted his chest and winced at a bit before looking down at the alleyway beneath them. He saw a few shadows of people a couple of streets over, watching them as they combed over a run down house before continuing onto the next street. âYou might want to take the food and get back to your camp. Well, before you donât have a camp to get back to.â
She looked at the food in her hands and back up towards the man. "I'm pretty sure my fire is either being used by someone else, or out. Besides, I still have my backpack, so I'm good." Amber hummed as she pointed to the bag slung over her shoulder.Â
"Well, I've got nothing to do. How about we have dinner?" She suggested. Amber had decided that he couldn't say no, and he was going to eat with her whether he wanted to or not. "You really don't have a choice, by the way. I didn't want to eat alone anyways." She grinned.

Unexpected Meeting || Amber & Taekwoon
Taekwoonâs lips twitched into a smile, and he took the knife from her. This way she wouldnât have to see the wound and I didnât even have to say anything. It seemed a little too good to be true for him. âItâs a deal,â he said quietly, a smile in his voice. âI think there might be some useful stuff in the shed,â he offered while kneeling by the animalâs side.Â
"Donât go too far in, I wouldnât want anything to make you their snack," he frowned. That had sounded a lot less lame in his head.Â
Amber snorted at the last statement. "I doubt I would taste good, but I'll make sure to stay near the front." She snickered. With a hum she started off towards the shed.Â
Once inside the shed she approached a wall with shelves on it and peeked around. I don't know if there's going to be anything good he- is that lighter fluid. That's lighter fluid. Praise Jesus Amen Hallelujah that is lighter fluid. Amber laughed as she grabbed the bottle and ran outside. "Taekwoon I found lighter fluid can you believe it?" She asked excitedly. Amber started dancing around Taekwoon. "Admit it, I am the goddess of scavenging. Bow down before your queen." She joked. "Okay technically," she stopped mid dance. "It was on the shelf in the shed so I didn't scavenge it, but I think it still counts."
Blackout // Amber & Seungho
Seungho gave a nervous laugh, âNah, they missed me.â He didnât bother mentioning the fact that from the short distance there wouldnât have been a doubt that he would be in range, no matter where they shot. âI got lucky,â he tried for a grin.Â
He looked around and frowned. This wasnât far from what used to be his home. It bothered him slightly that it was habit to run in the direction of the apartment. Seungho had stayed away from his old apartment, simply because it was where they had found him so many months ago. By now, theyâve probably searched it a couple times. I doubt they think Iâm dumb enough to go back there now.Â
"Itâs getting close to lunch. I have some non-perishables stowed away in my old place. Iâm pretty sure I also have some stuff you might find useful, if you want," he offered, frowning a bit at the building around him.Â
The mention of his apartment reminded Amber that people actually used to live in Korea before everything went downhill. It must be nice having someplace to go back to.. What with her house being across an ocean (and most likely demolished) she had never had a place to go back to. But, she was also grateful for that fact. With no place to go back to there was no way for her to go and reminisce about her past and her family. She peeked out at Seungho from the corner of her eye.
"If you want we can go. We don't have to." Â Amber shrugged.Â
Golden Apples | Open
Yixing let the food fall to his side, hoping that they wouldnât fall through the bars of the fire escape and into the alleyway below. Why did his luck suck so much? He winced as he looked up at his chaser unsure of whether or not she would do something to him now that she had him cornered so to speak. He struggled to sit up and let out a raspy breath as he blinked a few times.
He heard her words and glanced at her outstretched hand wondering if it would be a trap if he took it. But she geniunely seemed conflicted over helping him or leaving him since he stole her food. And honestly he couldnât blame her. This entire endeavor was out of character for Yixing. Truthfully he had taken tons of things from the scientists and from abandoned buildings. Hell heâd even stole from other survivors before but nothing like this or running even. Heâd never been caught and heâd never run, he also would only steal from those who had a lot more and would never notice it missing. This girl could probably stand to eat all of this and more. But Yixing had been selfish. He took her outstretched hand and gingerly sat up. Sure, he had healing capabilities but they sure took a while to kick in and honestly were a bitch at times.
âSorry.â It was the first thing to roll off his tongue and well he wasnât thinking straight to be honest. But he figured the direct approach would be good. âI was just hungry and it was there. You can have it back if you want.â Maybe she would let him at least keep the apples.
Now, she had two options here; forgive him and give him the food, or stay angry and take back the food. Amber knew why he did it, and she knew that if she was in his position she'd do the same thing. Forgive him it is.
Amber tilted her head and gave him a small smile. "Nah, it's okay. If you want it you can have it.. I ate yesterday. Gotta make the food last you know?" She paused. "But I figured if you were desperate enough to try and take it from me when I was literally three feet away means you need it more than I do." Amber finished with a shrug.
"Anyways, you sure you're okay? You fell kind of hard."Â
Unexpected Meeting || Amber & Taekwoon
Though his hands were considered clean already, Taekwoon still shoved them into his pockets before walking back outside. Despite his efforts to desensitize himself, the feeling of blood on his fingers always lingered, and it disgusted him. He approached Amber and the dead mountain lion silently, âI can grab branches and wood to start a fire and cook it, if youâd like,â he said when he was close enough with a tiny smile.Â
He flipped the mountain lion onto itâs stomach with his foot, effectively hiding the wound for now. âDo you have a knife? If you do, you could help me skin it? I think there might be one inside the house, unless itâs already been ransacked.âÂ
:"Yeah, I've got a knife.." She nodded. Amber reached for her belt, finding the knife she had and pulled it out. "I just don't know how to skin it." She grinned embarrassed."How about I get the wood and you skin the mountain lion?" Amber offered. "I definitely know how to pick up wood."
