Pinned Post time! now that I've finally stopped procrastinating it oops

Hi! I'm Amber and I use they/them pronouns unless its funnier to use any other pronouns in the moment

This is the place you can find my writing (or me talking about writing) but my main blog where I've been slowly slipping further into madness over the past 13 years is @reading-writing-dying

most of the things I write will be fully posted on Ao3 under the same username!

Been writing a lot about block people commonly found on Hermitcraft and the Life Series lately but maybe eventually I will branch out again

Ask box is open if you have any desire to ask or tell me things I will do my best at not being the worst at responding <3 (For serious though please yap at me about anything and everything I encourage it so much)

Fair warning, I am sadly a 'real' adult with a real full time job so I don't get to write nearly as much as I want to and updates and fics may take a bit longer than even I'd like but please know I am always at the very least thinking about my silly stories and wanting to write them to share <3

Being a soldier was not what she dreamed it had been while she was playing in the schoolyard. The war was over before she even reached double digits in age, but that hadn't stopped her from picturing herself the hero. Of driving off villains like she did bullies that tried to pick on her friend, or stared just a little too long at the antlers growing from beneath her hair. By the time she had come of age and signed up for the Elven Guard she no longer carried any romantic notions of war, but she still wanted to help. To be of service to those who needed her.

Had two long days yesterday and today so yall send good energy that the next two days are easier so i have energy to do some writing after eork and maybe finish the next chapter of my fic

Also i think im going to aim for the GemPearl firefighter calendar fic (that i started writing in october 🫣) as my birthday fic this year so uhh, tentitive early july on that if i gather myself enough to finish it in the next month

My fantasy au series! Containing a completed 14k word Scarian fic AND the 5+1 Gempearl fic i am currently writing and obsessed with because its about time i, a lesbian, actually write a yuri focused fic /silly

She tightened her grip on the weapon and spoke, "I won't let them kill him. He's done nothing wrong." Gem didn't drop her sword. "He's a witch. Isn't he?" "He's a kid is what he is. Would you condemn a kid to a brutal death just for having the audacity to be born with magic? Seems a bit hypocritical coming from an elf." Not once in her life did she ever agree with this kingdom's methods of 'dealing' with those born with magic. The first thing they were taught when entering training for the Elven Guard though was that it was follow along with the laws of any land you were visiting, or commit treason and start a war. "It's different and you know that. I can't just let you walk out of here." Why couldn't you have been more careful. Why did it have to be her who found them. "I'll kill you, or you'll have to kill me if you want to take him." The girl's hand was steady, her words coming out without falter. Why hadn't she called for backup. or Five times Gem saves Pearl and one time she is able to return the favor

The sequel to Watching Witches Burn is finally here! Or at least chapter one is. I have literally been planning this fic for six months now and finally was able to start writing it and I'm so excited to share it with the world :D

Do me a favor and hit that reblog button because sharing and word of mouth is the best way for more people to be able to see my work and I would appreciate it very much <3

Sometimes i wish i knew what was wrong with me because tell me why im like 70ish percent done with the firefighter fic but intead of working on that this weekend i've written the first chapter of the GemPearl sequel to Watching Witches Burn

Gempearl Firefighter fic is sitting at 7k and will almost certainky be over 10k, so im thinking i split it into two parts maybe? If i do i might cpuld edit and post the first 5kish this weekend...

Feels like its been ages since ive written anything but today was the first day in like two weeks i had no prior plans and a the day off from work so of course im sick with a sinus cold :(
