Obvious Plant recently wrote a book of “magic spells” and left it at a local metaphysical shop. We’re definitely going to try out this awesome Spell of Eternal Friendship.

To me, connection means living life with open eyes; engaging with my current scenery and the people in it. Life in general offers endless amounts of creative inspiration, we just have to recognize its voice.

With major weight loss, there's a few things that happen. You're feeling more confident because you've put yourself to the test to see if you can do it and you can! Way to go! Your body is feeling better because you're finally taking care of it. You get to celebrate every milestone accomplished and it makes you do a happy dance. You cry in a Anthropologie because you fit into their jeans (probably just relevant to me). Yet, with major weight loss there comes insecurities. The feeling of never getting to where you want to be. Stretch marks, loose skin, sagging boobs even though you're in your 20s. And basically just feeling the pressure of having this body you've dreamed up for so long that it seems impossible to have. Which all of that is so, so silly. So, when I'm feeling all those insecurities and I want to remember that it's a process and not a race--I put on these terrible size 22 shorts I used to wear. It's a good reminder to have patience each step of the way. Now it's all about fine tuning.

I shared this picture on my facebook, but I also wanted to share it with the fitness community on Tumblr. The first picture is of me in 2011 at about 220-235 pounds. I honestly don’t remember how much I weighed at the time, but it was a lot for my short height of 5′1′’. Anyway, I won’t get into the entire story, but 5 years and fluctuating weight later, here I am at 145 (finally). I just started getting serious with running again because I’m training for a half marathon in November. By then, I hope to be in the best shape of my life. I know I can make it there. It will require a lot of motivation and discipline but I’m ready for it.
My advice to you, if you’re feeling tired or like you’re never going to make it to your goal. You can, you will if you keep setting your eyes on it. You will have periods in this process where you will slack off or lose motivation--but just know that if you REALLY want it--you’ll make it happen. Everyone’s process and journey is different, so don’t think just because so and so was able to drop “blah blah” amount of weight in a short period of time and they have abs now. Good for them--But it’s better if you just focus on you and where you are and where you want to be. You’ll be able to see the changes in yourself much easier.
