Another bespoke outfit to be worn for the races.
A bespoke evening dress made for a client, exact to to her description and measurements to be worn for a ladies night.
Included in my Tech Pack, is my working drawing and production sketch, both creates on Illustrator, to show how the garment is created, where lockstitch lines are made and how the coat is made at a glance, and how the garment sits on a figure.
Creating a toile of a potential garment provides and insight to how the end design will look, and from there changes can be made. This was my thoughts with the coat toile previous, I wanted to challenge my pattern cutting and tailoring skills further by creating a bespoke coat, exact to my own measurements. I kept the features of the double collar and rever, the double pocket and pointed cuffs in this final garment, however I created a tailored bodice and relayed the double detailing on the front of the coat to the back, with a double inverted pleat. A project that i am proud of.
From an initial group coat design, this toile became my interpretation, a variant of the group project. In this design, I was able to break away and display my pattern cutting skills by creating a double collar and rever, as well as an intricate double pointed pocket and a pointed cuff. The coat and design did provide a challenge, but only enhanced my love of pattern cutting.
For this project, no form of pattern cutting was permitted, this was created by draping the fabric over the mannequin, and tacking into place. My passion lies within pattern cutting and measurements, so a moulage project provided challenging, although transferring the intricate detailing i like to keep in my designs, this garment became a pleasure to make.
Project given by Concert Live to create t-shirt designs to share their love of music with others through clothing.. These designs are initially hand drawn and then placed onto the t-shirt graphic before being sent into production.. This project encouraged my enthusiasm of music and design too.
